I growled under my breath as I threw my suitcase in the car. Being an Alpha, I was used to staying up all night, but I usually didn't have to leave the next day. I had been up all night, working for my pack on the desk in my office.
I hadn't meant to stay up all night, but my pack's needs always came before mine. My pack comes first, it always has and always will be.
"Please be careful Leonidas, they're dangerous. They treat women like dirt, I'm still scared of some things because of them." I bit back a growl – no one talked to me like that.
"When you find her, you need to bring her back immediately." This time I did not hide my growl, turning to her and glaring at her. My growl shook the floor causing her to whimper.
"You will not tell me what to do with the girl, I am your Alpha. Your mate is not here Ana, which means if you talk to me like that again you will be punished. Understood?" Her face paled and she took a step back, looking down.
"Yes Alpha."
"Good. Since my brother is gone and you are Beta Female, you are in charge. I am putting this pack in your hands, you know how I feel about that. If one thing happens, it's on you, understood?" My brother's mate frantically nodded her head and turned back towards the house. My phone rang a second later.
"What?" I barked into the phone.
"I've only been gone for one-night brother, and I get a call from my mate at five o'clock in the morning and she's crying? What the hell's wrong with you man?" My eyes glanced at the house before stepping into the car.
"I don't care Jackson; I was leaving her in charge. You know how much this pack means to me, so don't ever speak to me like that again! Is that clear?" He growled at my Alpha command.
"Yes Alpha." He sneered then hung up. I let another growl slip out of my mouth.
Pushing the gas pedal to the floor, I maneuvered the car out of the long driveway and onto the main road. Everyone was testing my patience, but I couldn't get the scent out of my head.
My wolf was running around in my head, yelling at me to go after it; I didn't want to listen, but as much as I don't want to admit it, my wolf had more control over me then I had over him.
I did not care about Ana's wishes; I did not care for a mate. My mate shall never be like Ana, she will recognize that I am and will always be her Alpha. She will have no choice to listen to my commands.
At 7:30 I pull up to the pack house, watching as several men go about removing my luggage. My wolf lets out a loud growl causing them to flinch and stop in their tracks, looking to their Alpha. He steps off of the porch.
"It's fine, he can handle it. Go back to your positions." I shut my door and locked the car, watching him raise an eyebrow at me.
"This should not take long, I only brought the luggage for emergencies or if I need to shift. I expect to be gone by midday." He nods, holding out his hand. I shake his hand, hard, tightening my grip to show dominance. It makes him upset, as we are both Alphas, but he knows I can take him down so he holds himself back.
"I will have all of the women ready as soon as possible Alpha. Please, make yourself at home." I watch as he mind-links his pack, then turns towards the house and begins walking.
I follow him in, sitting on the couch that is too close to the ground, so my legs awkwardly stretch out. I decide to stand. An older woman comes scurrying around the corner and curtsies in front of me.
