"Please, just take it."

"I can't-"

"I just need someone. I need a friend."

"Fine." The devil handed me his pen and I signed my soul away. Suddenly the dark figure melted into a handsome teenager, not much older than me. "I will be your 'friend' Jack." His voice was deep and calming.

"Wow, you look-" He looked down at himself, then up again,

"I have disguised myself so I can socialize with you."

"Well... umm... You might need to put clothes on..." I blushed a little and look up at him again. He nodded. "I'll just-umm... head to the mall real quick." He started following close behind me, up the stairs, "No. You stay here."

I drive to the mall and walk in, bracing myself for tournament, only my hoodie can give me comfort, hiding my scarred arms and pale, sickly, skin.

"What are you doing here?" A group of people started pointing, giggling, and whispering. "Come on, Jack!" "You finally gonna cut your nasty ass hair?" One boy pushed past the others and tugged at my hair. "Yeah, Jack? Finally out of the house? Did you get a sense of style all of the sudden?" Another girl pulled at my sleeves,

I kept my head down, as usual, walking into one of the clothing stores. Hiding my face from everyone, please don't notice me, please don't notice me...

"So... This is where Jack likes to shop? I bet you don't even have money, do you?" Connor leaned against the wall, I nodded my head. My parents left me fair amount of money before they disappeared, "Speak up, bitch!"

"Yes. I-I do. I do have money." That's why I'm here dumbass. I start backing up, Connor laughed,

"Pathetic. You're not even worth my time." Him and his goons pushed passed me, bumping into others as they left, laughing. I sighed and grabbed some clothes, paid, and got back in my car. I didn't drive off right away, I just sat there, fighting back my tears. My only chance at a friend was to sell my soul to the devil. Connor's right, I am pathetic. I hear a knocking on the window, it startled me and I tried to wipe the tears,

"Hello? A-Are you okay?" A girl was bent down, staring in,

"I'm fine." I say sternly. I just want to go home,

"Oh, alright." She turns to leave, "I'm Amanda, by the way. Nice to meet you." She reached her hand out for me to shake, but I just stared at her. No one has ever been nice to me before, unless they wanted something which, even then, wasn't often... She retracted her hand slowly, "Okay...? Well umm, I have to go. Goodbye."

"G- Goodbye." I whisper under my breath. As I drive away I am reminded that I have school tomorrow and the devil is coming with me... I swerve in and out of traffic, I just have so much on my mind. Once I get home I see him standing there confused.

"I have lived for centuries, but you took forever." He chuckled, I smile a little and threw the clothes at him,

"Put these on." He caught them and held them up to his chest and grinned, "What was that for?"

Author/Editor's Note: Hey guys! We've stared a new story! Yay! As you can possibly tell, this one will be slightly darker than the other story. (Though the other one was still dark.) Our friend @hodgepodgey came up with the title for this chapter so we were thinking that you guys should come up with some! If you guys come up with any interesting possible chapter names or even interesting words that could deal with this story, you should comment them and we could incorporate them! Anyways, this story with be shorter than the last, but we will be writing another story after this, so don't worry. Thank you for reading!
