The morning I had talked to the warden, Mr. Sir gathered us outside the mess hall.
"The warden and I have decided that your character building should go back to the form of digging individual holes." He told us.
I was relieved that we didn't have to dig the trench anymore, but I was too tired to care. I reluctantly grabbed a shovel and went into the desert. My feet barely rose with each step I took.
After digging my hole for a while I felt the sun shining down on us, but it didn't feel good. I thought about Barfbag, and how he couldn't handle it. I thought about how I could do something to get out of here too. Then I felt a shadow over my hole.
It was Zigzag. But I didn't notice until I accidetly hit him in the face with my shovel when he hopped into my hole.
It collided with his head with a loud BANG. He collapsed on the ground. Out cold.
"OH MY GOD I'VE KILLED HIM!" I yelled. I plunked down on the ground next to him.
"What are going on about now Angel!" X-ray yelled.
I stuttered over my words. "He-uh-I -he-jumped into my hole-and then -uh -I aaaaahhh why am I such a screwup!"
"He's not dead."
"What're you talking about? Of course he's de-." I saw color returning to Zig's face.
"Oh." I said, my face turned bright red with embarrassment.
"Sweetheart, you need to take a break." Squid draped an arm over my shoulder and led me over to a previously finished hole.
"Sit in the shade and drink water." He grabbed my canteen.
"Why is this still full!?" He shouted.
"I needed to conserve my water." I always finished almost the whole canteen before the water truck came.
"Well no wonder you're acting crazy. You're dehydrated."
I stood up. "Well I wouldn't say crazy-."
He grabbed my shoulder and pushed me back down. "Drink water."
He walked away. "That canteen better be empty when I get back." He called over his shoulder.
After sitting in the shade for twenty minutes, I drank all of my water and the pale color had returned to my face
I got up and returned to my hole where I saw Zigzag sitting in the shade of his hole.
I ran over to him and he stood up.
"Zig I am so sorry I honestly didn't see you and-." Zigzag didn't let me finish because he had reached over and put his lips on mine. My hands found the the back of his neck and his hand was on the side of my face and his other hand was on my shoulder pulling me closer.
We broke apart when we heard hooting, whistling and clapping. I looked up to see D tent and mr. Sir staring at us. Apparently the water truck had come and we were too busy making out. to notice.
"Hey guys, this camp is now rated PG-13." X-ray said laughing
"Yep." Zig wrapped his arm around my waist. I put my hand on his chest.
"What? You seventeen year olds can't handle it?" I taunted.
"Enough of that Evans." Said Mr. Sir. "Now come on little fishies. Get your lake water." He laughed. "Get it, lake water? That's a joke."
"What?" Asked Armpit.
Suddenly, we heard the rumbling of thunder in the distance. We all looked over to see storm clouds over the mountains.
