Don't Stop The Music

[AUTHORS NOTE]

So, we've finally reached the half-way mark (wow) and the end of part one! /kazoo fanfare/ 

To everyone who has read up to this point: thank you! I really hope you've been enjoying the story and the characters so far! :) 

This Author's note is really a bit of an apology. My friend told me once not to do that thing where you start a story and don't finish it, and I always told myself I wouldn't do that with this story, which is why I felt so guilty when I stopped updating for like half a year. But I /have/ lost a lot of enthusiasm for this story (+ I also can't write teen fiction to save my life), so I haven't really been motivated to finish. So I came to the decision the other day to just publish up to the end of the first half, and then the story will go on hiatus for a few months so I can get my enthusiasm back <3

However, this doesn't mean Don't Stop the Music is going to end here - I'm just taking a short break to focus on some other projects I've been working on (and am super stoked for). I've written about 100,000 words of this novel, making it my longest writing project to date (and it's still not quite finished). I also want to majorly rework the first half to make it less clunky and remove some superfluous plot points, but I'd rather complete the whole thing and edit afterwards. I also feel super bummed for leaving the story at a cliffhanger, because I really hate cliffhangers, but that's just how the structure of the novel played out. (i hope u will find it somewhere in ur <3 to forgive me senpai) I do have some bonus content planned that I might put up later this month to make it up to you so...watch this space?
