a hum chirped freely in the still air as the
bright lights hit the back of the
slouched, insecure posture,
"why can't my parents
do what you're
doing?"

"they," i gulped, "they want to make sure
you're surrounded by the world's most
sufficient needs, so they stay out all
day to keep you under a roof."

"they have tons of money," a shudder rippled
across those shoulders i've been facing
for the past hour, "they have to
listen to me, don't they?"

"they do," i confessed.

"then," a familiar sigh flew in the air,
"they don't care, do they?"

"they care," i retorted, "they brought
you here to help you."
