prom?//jughead+archie

as you walk along the hallways with kevin and betty, you hear a name call out to you "Y/N!" you turn around to see veronica catching up to you guys, "hey v" Betty says with a smile and Kevin suddenly brings up the upcoming autopsy of jason blossom

you didn't like talking about it considering your close friend jughead is letting you read his novel about it, anyways you guys head out to your usual spot during lunch.

as you sit down and grab your lunch from your bag, you start to hear a guitar playing, as it gets closer and closer you look up to see archie singing a song for you

you feel yourself start to blush as the song ends you look down but archie puts you head back up so that you're facing him and looking directly in his eyes.

"y/n, would you do the honor of going to homecoming with me?" he says hope filling his eyes, you look around to see all your friends staring at the two of you but someone caught your eye

 it was your best friend,your other half. it was the love of your life, it was jughead. you looked him up and down and you saw he was holding your favorite flowers, 

"y/n?" you turn back to see archie still waiting for your response. 

"I, Im sorry archie but i cant i, i, i need to go" you say as you start to feel tears in your eyes, you ran away hoping to find jughead.

you sit at pops balling your eyes out, you couldnt find jughead and you knew that you broke his heart.

you feel someone sit in front of you, you look up to see jughead.

"what do you want jughead" you say wiping away the tears,

"look y/n, archie told me what happened and i, i, im so sorry" he says looking up at you to meet your eyes. he looks so tired, you thought to yourself, he's been crying.

"jug, do you know the reason why i couldnt say yes?" you managed to say as he kept looking into your eyes "no y/n, please tell me" he says holding both your hands. 

"jug, ever since the day we became friends i knew i liked you, but i kept on telling myself not to" you say looking down, "y/n i,i,i dont know what to say" he says as his eyes start to fill with sadness.

"you, you dont have to say anything jughead" you say tears starting to fall down

 he looked at you now full of guilt as you got up from your seat and walked away crying your heart out.

and that was the day you knew, you couldnt be friends nor more than friends with your love, jughead jones
