Is today a good day to die?
I ask myself this question as I am currently standing on top of my apartment building's rooftop. This is the tallest building in Manhattan, believe it or not.

Don't ask why I'm up here because I don't even know myself. Heck I don't even remember climbing up all this way, or even crossing over the railing. I close my eyes, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm practically part of the sky. Maybe this time I'll actually do it. I open my eyes, and the ground is still there. I stretch out my arms and prepare myself for the jump.

The wind starts to pick up and it intertwines itself with my hair in a soothing way, but before I can take the leap, I hear a sob coming from my left. By this point my eyes are already open and fixated on the boy who is helplessly clinging to the railing. Tears were practically pouring out of his eyes.

"Moron what are you doing." He looks up at me, and just for a moment, he seems to forget that we're both stuck up on the ledge of the highest apartment building in our city.

"Well I don't actually remember getting up here, or seeing you climb over as well. It was like the person that wanted to jump just now, wasn't me. If that makes sense." He gives me a toothy grin before gripping the iron bars tighter.

"Yeah..." Well looks like today isn't the day. I sigh and run my fingers through my hair, as I take one last glance at the ongoing traffic below. Falling from here would cause all my limbs to be immediately pulverized.

"I suppose I'd like my face to be intact for my funeral anyways." I grab onto the railing and swing myself back across, landing perfectly on my feet, while taking a glance back over to the boy. He was far too pretty to be splattered against the sidewalks.

I walked over to him and put one hand out to him to grab while I left the other firmly on the railing, so I could support both of our weights. He looked up at me and shook his head, still holding on for dear life.

"Dumbass. Trust me would ya." He opened one of his eyes and slowly reached up for my hand, keeping one in place on the rusty metal bars. I quickly pulled him over, but he only fell face first on the concrete.

"Um thanks." He stood up and dusted his pants off, while reaching his palm out towards mine.

"Don't mention it." I grabbed onto his hand and shook it with his.

"My name is Naruto." The corners of his mouth turned up into the perfect smile as he released his hand from mine.

"Sasuke." I wiped my hand off on my shirt and looked back out to the sky. By this time, the sun was already setting, creating the perfect sunset. The colors gracefully blended with each other complementing the sun perfectly.

I would have loved to have painted this view, but alas certain situations prevent me from doing so.

"Hey Sasuke. Thanks for saving me..." I turned back to the boy I had just "saved".

"No I just happened to be there, but why were you up there in the first place?" Naruto looks up at the sky and frowns.

"Now why would I tell a stranger that anyways." I smirk and rub the back of my neck with my hand.

"Well you got me there, but how about we discuss over a cup of coffee at the diner." He turns around and smiles once again.

"Make that the ramen stand down the street and we have a deal." I walk past him and playfully smack his back.

"Well then lets go."
