The ride home was silent. Even when Jason dropped me off at home, all he gave a was a hesitant, but soft goodbye.

That kiss shifted everything between us. I knew he was still battling his feelings about Alicia and I felt like shit for adding on more onto him.

I changed into some street clothes, glad to be out of my plaid work dress and heels.

I decided to head on out to the bar down the street and just have a drink and something to nibble on while I people watched.

It was crowded when I arrived and I found a table in the far corner so I could be alone.

People came and went, socializing, enjoying their food and drinks. It had begun to put a damper on my mood; making me realize how alone I truly was.

I didn't mind it most of the time, but to have someone to go home to or ask me how my day was after a kiss... well, it just made me crave it all the more. It made me crave Jason even more.

I perked up slightly when I saw Jason walk through the door. He had a smile on his face and he seemed carefree.

My brain functions came to a screeching halt when he hugged and kissed a gorgeous blonde.

The weight on my shoulders intensified. That must've been why he was so distant... he was with someone and I could've damn near compromised it.

I downed the rest of my Sweet and Sour Ameretto, threw some bills on the table and snuck out where I bumped in Lucca.

"Jesus Y/N!"

"Sorry," I muttered, ducking my head.

"You okay, Y/N?" She asked, her voice light.

"Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm great."

"Are you-" She paused, looking over my shoulder.

"I gotta go Lucca, take care." I scurried off, ready to go home.

The next day, I made sure that I wasn't supposed to be in court. My reasoning? I was gonna slum it up at work.

Instead of dressing in my normal dresses and heels, I wore jeans, a Rocko's Modern Life tshirt with a long, light knit coat and sneakers.

I wasn't feeling it and I didn't give a damn who knew. I looked presentable, but I knew it'd also get me called into Diane's office since it wasn't casual Friday.

Everyone stared at me, giving me much space as I must've been sporting my resting bitch face.

"Wow, Y/N. Don't you look stunning?" Alicia giggled from the behind her hand.

I looked her straight in the eyes and the smile was wiped from her face. Without uttering a word, I made my way to my cubical.

Lucca sat on my desk top, her arms crossed, "You love him, don't you?"

My hand paused as I was reaching for a pen. I grabbed it and clicked it, signing some much needed documents.

"Let it be, Lucca."

"Y/N, you can't just mope around here,"

I slammed my pen down, "Please, leave it be!"

"Y/N?"

My eyes closed as I bowed my head. It was Jason.

Gathering up the folders, I held them to my chest and excused myself, "I have to get these to Diane, excuse me."
