26. Moon Kissed

Drew's POV-

I woke up in a patch of bright green grass, the sun was bright in my eyes and the ground was soft and plush. There were trees surrounding the small clearing I was in, I looked down and my stomach was flat but no wound was there. My heart broke slightly when I realized I had lost another baby.

"Don't worry child" I heard a beautiful melodic voice from ahead
"Who are you?" I called out
"I am Selene" a beautiful woman walked to me, she had stunning golden eyes and white long hair. Her skin was a perfect sun kissed shade and she was dressed in a long white dress.
"Selene, the moon goddess?" I asked, bewildered by her beauty
"Yes, but you, my child, can call me Selene" she smiled at my graciously
"What am I doing here?" I asked her standing up
"I wanted to talk to you, and help you understand what I did for you" she smiled softly
"Okay" I smiled back, she led me to a white marble bench that was placed near a small pond
"I gave you all of those gifts because I knew you wouldn't abuse them, and that you would put them to good use. I did take away your pups, but only because you weren't ready and I had bigger plans for you" she explained
"Bigger plans, like the war?" I asked her
"Yes, the war needed to happen because the Lokoti wolves needed to be put to an end. I didn't think that Boris would have chose the path he did, I give everyone two paths, he chose the wrong one, and for that he died. You, on the other hand, have done nothing but choose the right path and do amazing things. I mated you with Braxton because I knew he would need someone like you, someone who would love and care for him, no matter what." She went on
"Thank you for Braxton, I couldn't have asked for anyone better for my mate" I smiled at her
"Do you remember the first time we met, Drew?" She asked me, I shook my head confused.
"When you were about three or so I knew you were the one I wanted to help me do with the Lokoti" she explained
"Why couldn't you get rid of them yourself?" I asked, not in a mean way, just a genuine question
"I couldn't just rid a whole species, I needed someone like you to do it for me. And I'm glad you were the one I chose. When you were three I gave you this mark," I took my right arm and lifted it up, there was a full moon, almost like a birthmark on the inner portion of it, "this is a moon kiss, only ones who have visited me or I have chosen can see them or get them" she told me
"Why don't I remember you?" I asked her
"You were probably too young to remember" she explained
"Can I have children now?" I asked her, hoping she will finally let me have kids.
"I want to apologize for doing what I did with your pups, but it was for the better, now, I want you to go back to your mate and love him with all that you have. I love you, my brave warrior, and I will give you such a gift one for each I have taken from you, so you will never forget how much I do love you" She smiled at me and her eyes started to glow this silvery white color I have never seen before, she stood up and pulled me with her, she placed her hand on my stomach and kissed my cheek in a motherly way.

The hand on my stomach emitted this type of pleasure and security that I have never felt before, it wasn't a sexual pleasure, more of a bonding pleasure and security.
"We will meet again, my sweet warrior" she told me and then everything started to fade out and my vision became black again.

I could feel my body, my fingers on my left hand were cold, but my right hand was nice and warm, like someone was holding it. I could feel the uncomfortable mattress I was laying on, against my back. I tried to open my eyes but they wouldn't budge, it took all of my energy to open them.

Braxton's hand was folded over mine and he was sleeping in a chair, a smiled softly and squeezed his hand. His eyes snapped open and then found mine,
"Drew! You're awake!" He exclaimed and kissed me gently.
"How long have I been asleep?" I asked him my muscles feeling tight
"8 days" he mumbled
"I'm sorry I left you" I apologized
"It's okay, you came back, and that's all that matters" he smiled at me and kissed me softly.

"I want to go home" I whined childishly
"We have to wait for the doctor" Braxton brushed a strand of hair behind my ear
"Come lay with me please" I scooted over, he looked hesitant at first but crawled in next to me, and wrapped his arms around me

I laid with him for a couple minutes until the doctor came in, took out my ivs and discharged me. Now Braxton is carrying me to our room so we can shower.
"Let me bathe you, please" he begged me slightly, I nodded my head and he began to wash my body, my stomach was now flat and thankfully no scar was left from my injury
"Braxton" I said out
"Yes, my love?" He asked while washing my back
"Who threw the spear?" He hand immediately stopped washing and he took a long breath in
"Kennedy" his voice was low and shaky, my breath hitched in my throat at the sound of her name
"Oh," was all I could say
"I'm sorry,love" he told me and kissed my skin
"It's not your fault" I smiled softly and he continued to bathe me, and then himself

We got out and I brushed my teeth as Braxton brushed my long hair, it was night time out and I was feeling exhausted, even though I was asleep for 8 days. Once I finished brushing my Teeth, Braxton finished brushing through my freshly washed hair and I changed into a pair of leggings and a loose tank top.

I crawled into bed and waited for Braxton, he walked out of the closet but stopped midway through his steps
"Braxton, what's wrong?" I asked him, he stayed silent for a few more moments until he shook his head
"Nothing, I just thought I heard something, no red to be worried" he assured me
"Okay" I smiled softly at him as he crawled into the bed beside me

I laid my head down on his chest and he wrapped his arms around me, one rubbing my back and another one running over my hair. Then, as I was almost asleep from listening to his steady heart beat, he froze, stiffened
"What's wrong?" I asked and looked into his eyes, that were now swirling with a golden color
"Sh" he snapped at me, i closed my mouth shut and looked at him, Maximus slowly taking over
"Do you hear that?" He asked me quietly
"Hear what?" I asked
"Be quiet and listen carefully" he instructed me and so I did

I strained my ear to listen to the slightest noise, but the only thing I could hear were our heartbeats,
"I can't hear anything, Maximus" I glowered
"You can't hear or smell them?" He asked me
"I have no idea what you're talking about" I sat up in bed and crossed my arms over my chest, Maximus followed my actions but he lowered his head and started to smell my stomach
"Stop it Maximus! There is nothing there!" I growled at him, he growled back and then the room fell deadly silent

I then heard it, a rapid, small heart beat, but not just one, or two, but three. One for each the moon goddess has taken from me
"That's impossible" I whispered
"Who have you been with?" Maximus asked me, hurt clearly in his eyes
"No-no one" I stuttered
"Little wolf, don't lie to me" he warned me, his canines coming out
"You have to believe me when I tell you this, the moon goddess gave them to me" I told him
"What?" He asked his eyes starting to swirl back with blue
"when I was in a coma she visited me and told me she will give me a gift, one for each she has taken from me, this is what she must have meant. Please believe me, I would never even look at another man. You're the only one for me" I stroked his cheek as his eyes turned back to blue and Braxton took back control
"I believe you, now  let's get some sleep"

Sleep came easily and instantly
