A Night For Us

As the two women held hands walking back to the car Stef took the drivers seat and threw the takeout in the back. However, she was not planning on driving home at all for she had something much bigger planned for the two of them which Lena was not privy to at all. To be honest the cop was shocked she had been able to pull this all off so fast at the last minute but, after Mikes suggestion of going away she scrambled around to find a hotel suit for the night and picked up the engagement ring just in time before Lena had gotten home. She had ordered it two weeks ago and had it sized down to fit her partner. The biggest joy was showing the girls and making sure Lena didn't speak to them until after she already proposed.

FLASHBACK

"So babies what do you tihnk?" Stef asked smiling at both little girls as they gently touched the ring she had gotten for Lena. "You think mama will like it? Huh?"

"It's so pretty and shiny!" Mariana said smiling wide with her missing tooth in the front as Callie's smile grew as well.

"You're going to ask mama to marry you mommy?" Callie said looking into the cops eyes innocently.

"Well, I was planning on it but wanted to ask you two how you felt. I love you both so very much and I love mama, very, very much. I really want us to be a family and I would love more then anything to marry mama. Is that ok with you both?" she asked softly as the two girl stared back happily.

"Yes. Will there be a wedding with flowers?" Mariana inquired as the blonde could only laugh. Only Mariana.

"Yes love." she chuckled. " And we would have the prettiest flower girls now wouldn't we?" Stef said poking both on the tip of their little noses.

"Yup! Right Cals?"

"Yes! Ask her mommy!"

"Well now that I have your blessing I most certainly will. Come here babies!" she said grabbing them both squeezing and hugging them tightly. "Mommy loves you two so much, you have no idea." she whispered planting kisses on their cheeks and they giggled happily. "But there is one favor mommy needs from you two."

"Yes?" they asked in unison looking to their mother curiously.

"Well I wanted to take mama somewhere special for the night so we would not be back until the morning. You think you guys can hang here with Grandma Sharon until tomorrow?"

The blondes question was not so much directed to Mariana but to Callie as the young girls face looked slightly panicked.

"All night mama?" she asked looking more worried then ever into the cops eyes.

"Yes honey bear. But when we come back all of us will go somewhere together. Our first family vacation yes? How does that sound?" Reassuring her she gently stroked the little girls soft cheek.

"Awesome!" Mariana said jumping up and down but Callie's face continued to look more and more worried.

"Cals?" the blonde gently cupped her daughters face as she glanced into her soft brown eyes. "Listen to me my baby girl. It will be ok tonight. Grandma Sharon will be here with you and she has a ton of fun stuff planned for you guys I gotta say. You have nothing, nothing to worry about sweet pea." Stef could clearly see the panic remain on Callie's face as a tear rolled down her little check. It was breaking her heart and she felt horrible as she soon saw Mariana grab her sisters hand squeezing it tightly.

"And I will be here too Cals. I will watch over you too. Don't worry mamas will be back." she comforted as the young seven year old looked back to her mother.
