ethan:

ethan sighed as he walked into the police station once again. this was his third time entering the place and the cops were rather familiar with him. "hey dolan, back again?" officer miller asked as he walked in. ethan nodded, ashamed to show his face around there. "are you here for her?" he asked.

"yes i am," ethan said.

officer miller nodded, "do you want to know what she did?" he asked. ethan shook his head not caring for the reason as to why. "alright, i'll send her out. have a safe night, " he said going to the holding cell and grabbing you. "y/n, get up you're going home. ethan is here for you," officer miller said as you stood up. he walked the both of you to the door, you looked outside the glass seeing ethan with his head in his hands. "hey, if i were you, i'd appreciate him. he's a great friend, he's bailed you out more times than i've seen anyone bail someone out," he said as he opened the door.

you walked over to ethan, embracing him in a hug. he didn't hug back which caused you to look at him confused. "i don't want to know. i just want to go home," ethan said getting up and walking out, quickly.

you had to run in order to catch up with him. you tried to speak to him but he continued to walk. you finally reached his truck and it was awkward as he started it up. "what's wrong?" you quietly asked.

ethan scoffed, "what's wrong? y/n, i come here more than a mother has to bail her son out!" he said and you laughed at the analogy.

"you're not my mom ethan," you giggled and he nodded.

"you're right i'm not your mom, and you're not a little kid. but yet you still make the worst fucking decisions and although you make them, you can't be grown enough with actually going to jail. you have to call me and guilt shame me to come bail you out and you know what i'm done. y/n i'm done. i'm done showing my face around there, i'm done being your friend because i'm being used here, clearly." he said as he gripped onto the steering wheel tightly.

you looked down at your hands, twiddling your thumbs, "ethan i'm sorry. i'll cha-"

he cut you off, "don't you dare say you'll change. that's bullshit, you know it and i know it. next week you'll go back to doing what you've been doing and the only thing that will change is me not coming to bail your ass out anymore. it's really pathetic, might i add," he said and you nodded, not knowing what to say.

he drove up to the drive way of your house, the living room light was on and you knew your parents were up worrying about you. you looked at ethan, his jaw was clenched and he didn't look at you. you admired his beauty before opening the door, "thank you for everything. i'm sorry you feel this way. bye ethan," you said before quickly slamming the door shut and running into your house.

grayson:

"seriously dolan?" you asked as you pulled out your handcuffs once more, grayson dolan's arms behind his back. this was the second time this week you had arrested him, making it a total of five arrests in two months.

"seriously officer y/l/n, you're arresting me again?" grayson asked and you rolled your eyes, lifting him up from the wall and walking him to your car. "i guess you have a thing for me, huh?" he smirked and you took in a deep breath.

"you know the rules, you have the right to remain silent. anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law, watch your head," you said as you placed him in the back seat. you reached across him as you began to put his seat belt on, wanting to be as safe as possible.

grayson smirked, "wow, i think it's highly inappropriate how you're trying to get at me in the back seat of your cop car," he said and you sighed. getting up and closing the door as you got into the driver's seat. you groaned as you made your way onto the freeway, getting stuck in traffic, "why don't you just use your sirens?" he asked.

"i can get in trouble and get stuck working at the desk job, and let me tell you that job is boring as fuck," you said looking at him through the rear view mirror. grayson nodded, "so grayson, why do you keep vandalizing property?" you asked.

he shrugged, "i've always thought how it looked dope and when i began to do art, i wanted the entire world to see it. i decided to start putting it on buildings in open areas and it's a law that you don't get sent to jail for like twenty years," he said and you looked at him, seeing how sincere he really was.

"i mean, these charges can add up," you informed him and he nodded. "don't you have a family? what do they think of this?"

"who do you think bails me out every time? trust me, if they wanted me to stop, they wouldn't continue bailing me. they would have me learn my lesson already," he said and you smiled. "why are you smiling?" he asked.

you shrugged, "i mean you have a supportive family and although what you do isn't legal - they still follow through with it, behind you. see my family forced me to be a cop, they had a doctor, a dentists, and a firefighter in the making. i had to be the cop," you explained and grayson nodded.

"you couldn't choose what you wanted to be?" he asked.

you shook your head, "nope. my dad's in the military and my mom is a housewife. none of my siblings have options in their lives but they love what they do. it's just me who has a bit of a problem with it," you said. "if i wasn't a cop i would be a teacher, teaching special needs students," you thought out loud.

"i mean there's also another reason why i vandalize," grayson said and you looked at him, eyebrows furrowed. "i always have my hopes up that i'll see you. you're the prettiest thing on this planet, aside from my art," he mumbled the last words.
