"Five!"

Charlotte looked for Josh, having lost sight of him in the commotion of the New Year's party.

"Four! Three!"

Still, she couldn't see him.

"Two!"

She caught sight of his colored hair and pulled him towards her, almost spilling the glasses of champagne each of them were holding.

"One!"

He kissed her as the cheers and fireworks went off in the background.

"Happy New Year," she mumbled against his lips.

"What?" he shouted to her, causing her to laugh.

"I said 'Happy New Year'!"

He smiled and kissed her again.

"I'm definitely obsessed with your self-titled album right now," Charlotte told Tyler and Josh as they got ready for their concert.

"I don't play on that album," Josh turned to look at her, sticking his lower lip out in a fake pout.

"What?" Charlie knit her eyebrows.

"It's true. He didn't join the band until two years later," Tyler said.

"But that's my favorite album," Charlotte looked between the two. "You're kidding?"

"Unfortunately not. I did not yet know the wonder that is Jishwa when that album came out," Tyler responded. "But I'm glad you enjoy it."

"Okay, petition to have you rerecord the album, but with Josh on drums?"

Tyler laughed.

"No, wait, I'm serious."

Josh opened his mouth to speak but Charlotte saw it and cut him off.

"Do not steal my dad joke while I'm in this state. I have been lied to and I feel morally betrayed."

His mouth closed. Then it opened again.

"Did you spend forty dollars on a sweatshirt I could have given to you for free?"

Charlie looked down at her Twenty One Pilots crewneck, which was a faded black with the band logo made out of horizontal lines.

"So I did. I like to do things for myself. Did you seriously memorize the prices of your band merchandise?"

"So I did. I like to do things for myself," Josh responded.
