“Hi dad, this is Kim.” Pie said to herself as she lit up a candle to her father’s tomb, Kim standing beside her. “She is the one I am in love with, I hope you’re okay with it dad. I never had the chance to introduce her to you because I was not ready yet. But I know you’ll give us your blessing. I love you and I miss you a lot. Guide me and mom down here. Thank you.” A tear escaped from her eye and she ended her prayer.
“You okay Pie?” Kim approached her and held her shoulder.
“Yes, I’m fine Kim. By the way, this is my dad, why don’t you introduce yourself to him?” she gestured for Kim to light up a candle.
“Of course.” The tom said smiling.
Kim came near and placed a candle in the tomb and let out a silent prayer to Pie’s dad.
“Hi sir, my name is Kimhan Buranaphan, nice to meet you finally.” A cold breeze of air was felt around the area that gave Kim a shiver, thinking that it was the presence of Pie’s dad.
“Sad thing is that I met you late, me and your daughter are not together anymore. I wished I met you when we were still together, but I can assure you that I love your daughter, and given the chance, I will not hurt her, I hope to have your blessing. I want to be with her again but please give us your guidance sir. I love your daughter. Thank you, please rest in peace.” Kim gave her last bow and glanced at Pie.
Kim was just looking at Pie and smiling at her, there was still a long silence between them two, it wasn’t an awkward kind of silence, and they were just looking at each other and feeling the presence of their hearts.
“Let’s go meet the others.” Pie said and she held Kim’s hand.
“I’m nervous Pie. I don’t know what to say to them.”
“You don’t need to do anything, just be yourself. You look fine and dashing.”
“Thank you.” With that, Pie dragged her to where her other relatives are.
Yikes, here goes nothing. Kim said internally.

“Hi dear, long time no see.” A guy in the middle of his 40’s approached Pie and Kim, waving his hand. They were now in his father’s ancestral house, they used to gather there after they went to the cemetery to have a small chat and get together.
“Oh, Hello Uncle. Nice to see you here too.” Pie responded with a wai.
“You’re getting taller by an inch the last time I saw you.” He said and patted Pie’s head, Kim was walking behind her, and Pie gestured for her to come near.
“Oh, by the way, Uncle, this is Kim, she is a special friend of mine, Kim this is Uncle Jules, he is my dad’s best friend.”
“Oh my gosh! You look handsome for a girl! I want to make you my son.” He laughed and tapped Kim in the shoulders. “I like this friend of yours Pie, I bet your dad will like her too.” He smiled and looked at Pie with an approving look.
“Thanks Uncle, I know that too.” She smiled and looked at Kim who was just smiling shyly too.
Uncle Jules took Kim away from Pie for a moment and introduced her to the rest of the few people. Everyone seemed to like her; even her relatives’ look like they are fond of Kim already, and Pie was glad that they were all getting along.
“Look at that honey, they love Kim.” her mom came out of nowhere, holding a tray of cookies.
“Yeah, I’m glad they like her. It just feels so real mom, I feel like everything is falling to good pieces.”
