Three
First Date And It's Perfectly Ruined--Not Really
The girls and I had dinner at the bistro and went back to our suite. Danielle and Anne has rummaged through the closet and planned out my clothes for tomorrow morning.
“This would be your best date ever.” Danielle said as she strode in and out of the closet, laying out clothes on my bed.
“Oh my gosh!” Anne said. “You’re going to have your very first date since...” Anne faltered. She knew that I don't want to be reminded of Seth again. Then after a moment she frowned. “What’s he’s name again?”
“He never mentioned it,” I said, feeling the fibers of my bed in my hand.
After choosing the perfect outfit and a pair of bikini, we had a late-night movie then finally, fell asleep.
The sun showered the room with its golden rays. I sat up and rubbed my eye.
“Come on, princess. It’s time to get you ready.” Danielle said, hitting the hairbrush against her palm.
I trusted Anne and Danielle with my life. Anne placed wet square cottons over my eyes. She said that it would help my eyes look starry. After a moment, she took the cottons off and told me to keep my eyes closed. I felt the tiny brush sweeping against my lids.
“Open!” Danielle said with a flourish.
I opened my eyes and right infront of me was someone I almost missed for a moment then I remembered that I was looking at a mirror.
“Is that…me?” I whispered.
“One and only.” Danielle beamed.
My eyelids are shaded with a neutral shade. My lashes seemed a bit longer than they used to be. My lips are sandalwood beige in color. My cheeks are colorless.
“What did you put on my cheeks?”
“Nothing.” Anne said, smiling.
“Why?”
“You’ll do the blushing naturally.” Anne teased.
I rolled my eyes playfully. “Okay, I have to get down there. I'm running a bit late.”
Danielle ran to the window and peeked outside. “He’s right there!” Her nail tapped against the window.
Anne and I ran to her side and peered down.
“He’s waiting,” Anne said.
“You better get down there,” Danielle said.
Danielle and Anne escorted me down to the pool area. They took a dip in the pool and left me with him.
He was just sitting by the table, tapping his fingers patiently against the surface.
“Hi,” I said, cautious that my voice wasn’t audible enough.
