I knew when I grew up that I was going to hate having to be the maid of the house. But, maybe I can make this one exception. After all, I am stuck having to take care of him.
I'm not completely sure I should go with Atem back to the anime world. He needs someone to look after him with what happened to him. But... after what happened between us last night... I'm thinking about asking Rose what I should do, but this isn't exactly a "Guardian Angel's guidance" kind of situation.
After a while, he came out of his room and found me in the kitchen helping with breakfast. "Oh! Atem, you're awake. Good morning."
"Morning..." he replied through a yawn. He sat down on the couch and I set the plate of bacon and eggs I had prepared for him on the counter to cool so I could join him.
"Hold on," I began. "If you knew you were from another world, why did you ask how I knew your real name?"
He sighed. "Promise you won't turn me in."
"Turn you in?"
"They're out to kill me."
I knew exactly who he was talking about. "But... why?"
"I'd have to show you." he pulled down the collar of his shirt to reveal a necklace. The necklace had hieroglyphics on it. After half a second, it hit me. It wasn't just any necklace.
It was the cartouche that Te'a gave him...
"And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it."
I knew these words very well, a passage from Revalation! It was shocking to hear them escape the lips of a Pharaoh. But at the same time, this is what I wanted... (CHURCH CAMP PAID OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Tears of joy streamed down my face. "It's okay... You're home now..."
I wrapped my arms around his neck, hugging him, and climbed on his back. "Hey, get off me!" he screamed.
"Let me love you, orphan boy." I leaned back, pulling him down with me. And that's when I heard another groan. "You okay?" I asked.
"No, my head is killing me..." he groaned.
I pushed him off me so I could stand. "Don't worry, I know what's wrong with ya." I responded as I walked back into the kitchen.
"Do you think it's some sort of curse that they put on me?"
"What? No. See, this world holds different magic. All that's happening is your mind and soul are struggling to accept those changes. Unfortunately, since this magic is too weak to be of any danger in the wrong hands, it doesn't really have any... healing capabilities. So, all we can do is give you some Ibuprofen for that migraine."
