I heard Vylad's voice, but couldn't make out what he was saying. Then I got really, really sleepy. All my sense died, and I fell asleep.

Y/n's POV

Vylad and I have been living a good life. Since my weird power bow and arrow guard incident, nothing like that has happen again. It's crazy but I glad because that was one of the worst feeling ever. I'm 13 now, so is Vylad. Me and him have grown really close. He's like another brother, but he'll never replaced Jeffory, he has a special place in my heart. I don't know how he can put up with me, but I do thank him for it. If it wasn't for him I'd be dead by now. Not to long ago I was out trying to catch us some dinner.

It was already dark by then. And me being the stupid potato as I was, I started to stalk a pig. I pulled out my father's bow and got an arrow ready. Right before I released the string I heard a loud growl. I turned around to see a wolf coming near me. I don't know why but my hands where shaking so bad that I droped my arrow and bow.

As the wolf got closer, I started to back away. Then I triped over a rock, that I didn't know was there, and fell to the ground. The wolf was still stalking towards me. I frantically scooted away. Then it pounced on me pushing my back to the ground. The wolfs paws pined down my shoulders.

I let out a loud, terrified scream. Then it was like very thing went in slow motion. I saw how the wolf's eyes turned from blue to red. And the air it snarled out of it's noes. It's head went back a little but came back with it's mouth wide open. All it's sharp, blood strain teeth where in my vision. And they where coming for my neck.

There was bottomless feeling in my stomach. I took a deep breath, thinking it would be my last. Closing my eyes and waited for my life to end.

Then I feel weight lifted off my shoulders, followed by a loud whimper. Twigs snapping filled the air. I slowly opened my eyes to see Vylad as I sat up. He had a sword in his hand, alittle blood covered his arms. He was looking at something on the ground. I followed his eyes to find the wolf. Laying dead on the forest floor. My gaze landed back on Vylad. His chest was rapidly going up and down, do to his uneven breathing patterns.

As his eyes locked with mine, a look of sympathy and worry landed on his face. He griped his sword and gave me his free hand. I was still shocked from what just happen, but grabed his hand anyway. Then he pulled me up to my feet. "Are you ok?" He asked after a few moments. "I-I guess." I choked out. "We should get back to the house." He said, I just nodded in response, grabing my father's bow hold it and the arrow in my hand.

We started walking into the dark forest. As we made are way back home, Vylad put his arm around my shoulder. I was still short for a thirteen year old. Well, at least to Vylad. He is 5'7 while I'm 5'1. "Thank you." I blurted out of no where. "Uh?" Vylad hummed in confusion. "For everything, just..... Never leaving me. And keeping me safe." I responded. "Don't worry, I'll never leave you." Vylad said as we arrived home.

We walked into are little cottage. One day I was just walking around and found it. It was already abandoned so me and Vylad took it as our own. I placed the bow in the corner with the quill. Also putting the arrow in the quill. Vylad put his sword in the other corner and went up stairs. I followed him but went to my room as he went to his.

I change into more comfortable clothes and lay down on my bed. I pulled the covers over body and thought about what happened today. What would of been left of me if Vylad wasn't there? Irene I don't even want to know. After awhile I was able to block out my thoughts and fall asleep.

Y/n's POV

I woke to the smell of eggs. I jumped out of bed and started to run down the stairs. Before I got to the last few steps.... I triped. I fell on my face and stomach. Laying there I let out a loud grown at the bottem of the stairs.
