We met when we were young.
I was so overwhelmed I didn't realize —
that fate had brought me a sun.

Days sitting on the branches —
Of the sycamore tree.
It was those days I never wanted to end.

I would just look out at the world,
and see the sunset and the colors blend.

I wished it could be a world filled with —
Just you and me...

A world of so many possibilities,
We could be anything we wanted to be —

Until they went and
chopped... chopped... chopped
And down went the sycamore tree.

And as it was so,
our silly hopes —
and our dreams were shattered.

There was nothing left.
Not happiness nor joy,
Only a sad little boy.
