Twenty Seven

We're in the middle of nowhere. All of us are soaking in the sea, such a relaxing feeling with my friends.

My friends climb up to the boat to rest a little bit except me and Claudia.

"Hoy kain ka muna," yaya ni Donny. "Later na," I said. "Ayiee, iba talaga to!" pang-aasar ni Claudia. I splash her the salty water and then she hit me too.

We hear chit chats from the boat, when a sudden wind came. Malakas-lakas din, waves are dancing around us and it also hits our faces. I feel like drowning.

"Guys! Sofia and Claudia!" Stella yelled, I can't hear them clearly but I can hear their shaking voice.

Two persons jumped to the water, I honestly don't know who they are. My body is weak, I think it's going to collapse any minute.

"Please help," I begged while stretching my arm. "I got you," a guy said trying to save me from this no good situation. I don't even know what happened to Claudia, all I know is that everything turns to black.

Donny's POV

"Donny?" I heard Sofia's voice, I was lying my head on her bed while I sit on a chair. I sit up straight and looked at her whose looking really pale.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" I'm really concerned about her, ayokong malintikan kay tita. "What happened?" she asked, her voice is really cold.

"You almost drown," I said, "Why? How did it happened?" she panicked. "Uhm.. It started to get windy. Then, you and Claudia started to drown." I explained.

"Hi, how are you?" Karina smiled, Tino was with her too. "I'm good," Sofia responded.

"Bro, we're going to play frisbee. You wanna come?" Tino called me, I nodded. "I'll go ahead," I smiled at her and she did the same thing.

Sofia's POV

"Sofia, how are you feeling?" Karina held my hand, "I'm good," I smiled weakly.

"Where are the others?" I asked, "They're outside, busy. You know them," she help me to get up and together we went out.

I see all of them playing, I'm so happy to see them really happy. "What did really happened?" I asked again, Karina smiled at me, "It was windy, waves are huge and Stella called us because you two almost drown." she explained, I nodded. "Where's Claudia by the way?" I looked around. "She's still in the room but she's awake," she smiled.

"Sof, you know what, I've never seen Donny panicked so much." she said.

"What happened to him?"

"Dahil sa kaba niya, tumalon siya para kunin ka."

I was speechless, it was him. I never thought Donny would risk his life just to save me.

"He was afraid of losing you."

I watched him from distance and I can see how happy and playful he is. And then Karina continued to talk.

"When he got you in his arms, he keeps on saying-," she said, "I got you, don't worry. Please wake up Sof," she stated what Donny said. "He hugged you tight, he never let go of your hand." she added.

Wala akong masabi, Donny is really concern about me. I never thought how much he cares about me, kahit palagi kaming nag-aaway in the end best friends pa din kami. Siya pa rin yung baliw kung kaibigan.

"Sofia!" Stella squealed running towards us and hugged me. "Hi," I smiled.

"How are you?"

"I'm good now, thank you."

"Don't thank me, thank Donny." she pointed Donny, dang he looks at us.

I smiled at him and he smiled back, nakakatunaw talaga. Hay nako.

The rest of the afternoon was eating, playing and enjoying the best view we can get here in El Nido. It really is a gorgeous place.

It's our last day and last night, time flies when you're having fun.

We're enjoying under the night sky, we have a bonfire going on, there's music and ofcourse nobody forgets the food.

Donny is sitting on a log facing the bonfire with his marshmallows.

"Hey," I sat next to him.

"Hi," he smiled.

It was quiet for a moment, but I can hear their chats and the music.

"Thank you," binangga ko yung braso ko sa braso niya. "For what?" he put his elbows on his knees then looking away.

"For what you did, I really appreciated it." I smiled. "I thought..." he paused. "You thought what?" I asked looking at him.

"I thought, I-... I'm afraid to lose you."

"Talaga? Bakit?"

He looked at me really serious. I never had a serious chat with him kasi alam niyo naman kalokohan lang alam niya. I waited for his respond.

"Kasi best friends tayo at ayaw ko naman mawala ka."

"Marami ka namang best friends, nandiyan sina Tino."

He looked at me and then looked away. He mumbled but I didn't heard what he said kaya hinayaan ko nalang.

"Alam ba to ni mommy?"

"Ang alin?"

"Yung nangyari sa'kin."

"Hindi pa. Di pa ako ready pre."

"What happens in Palawan, stays in Palawan."

He nodded.
