If you do then you are in the right place! Exciting and fun stories about creatures and humans possessing magic, talents, or curses that must be broken. Also, the music is catchy and awesome!
In the end good triumphs evil, morals are learned, and people are united in harmony.
The adaptation of Beauty and The Beast is coming very soon and everything about the trailer is shot for shot and breathtakingly beautiful. Check it out below:
There have been plenty retellings of fairy tale books made into movies/tv shows, most that I love but I will cut it down some I enjoy.
Once Upon A Time
The series began in 2011, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Frozen, all of the fairy tale characters live in Storybrooke Maine. They live under a curse placed by the evil queen Regina to destroy the happiness of everyone. During the first season, no-one has memories of their past, only Mayor Regina and Rumpilstikin.
The only person that can break the curse is Emma - Charming and Snow White's daughter who they thought was gone forever.
The retellings of the characters are so intriguing and twisted you can't take your eyes off the screen to find out what will happen next. Some are dark, some are light, six seasons so far and there are still more stories to tell!
A Cinderella Story
A 2004 film based on the Cinderella story. It tells the story of Sam's father passing away leaving her to run errands for her vain and selfish stepmother and stepsiblings.
It takes an interesting plot of online dating. Sam and Austin correspond in a chatroom not knowing the other but finding a common ground. Also Chad Michael Murray as her prince, yes!
Alice In Wonderland
A 2010 film, dark yet realistic version of the fairytale, Alice finds herself back in Wonderland.
Rebelling to marry a man she doesn't love Alice goes back to the land of where she assumed was only a dream. From start to finish the movie does an amazing job interpreting the original. Futterwacken, anyone?
Shrek
A 2001 gamechanger of fairytales in a land where creatures of all kind magical are arrested or isolated because they are different. Shrek loves his privacy and refuses to let anyone disturb him by scaring them off. The changes due to a rule that all fairytale creatures must be in one place to avoid treason: Shrek's swamp. Teamed up with a talking Donkey, Shrek agrees to rescue princess Fiona in order to get his land back to himself. But of course, as we all know, it turns into a love story when Fiona and Shrek fall in love.
Tangled
A 2010 adaptation of Rapunzel.
It tells the story of Rapunzel being lied to by the woman raising her, Gothel, who she thinks is her mother. Gothel warns her to stay inside the tower for her own well being - but is really holding her captive to use her hair for youth.
Rapunzel and Finn finding each other is both unique and hilarious! Him intruding her home and her tying him up with her long hair was great. And who doesn't love the smolder?

Snow White and the Huntsman
A 2012 retelling of Snow White, focused more on Snow White and the stepmother's goal to beauty by consuming Snow White's heart for immortality.
The Queen uses the Huntsman to bring the escaped princess in promise to resurrect his wife - which he then refuses because of the queen's lies.
Dark, some humor, death and lies the movie is an amazing retell.
Ella Enchanted
Written by Gail Carson Levine in 1997, adapted in 2004 starring Anne Hathaway as Ella of Frell. Given the gift of obedience, she fights her way to break the curse by finding the person that gave it to her in the first place, her ditzy and narcissistic fairy godmother Lucinda (played by the amazing Vivica A. Fox). You will swoon over Hugh Dancy's Prince Charming and the musical score of classic rock.
The Wizard Of Oz
A 1939 film based on the book series starring Judy Garland. Dorothy runs away with her dog Toto to avoid being destroyed by an evil woman that accused him of biting her. Caught in a storm, she is not in Kansas anymore. Teamed with a tinman, scarecrow, and lion, they are all aided to consul the Wizard for what they desire. It's an instant classic for all that love old films and singing.
