We pull up to the facility. It was large, over looking a cliff. A large spherical device was in the distance, and I could feel the power emitting from it.
It was a really nice night, so I took my jacket off. Following Charles and Erik, I met this agent who Charles seems to be smitten with named Moira McTaggert. She was nice, but a bit rude.
I found out that I was the last mutant they had picked up. Great, everyone's probably buddy-buddy by now. I say goodbye to the two men and I walk into a room.
Two guys were in the corner playing some sort of pinball machine, and the others were sitting lazily around. From the tremors, the blonde woman and the nerdy-looking brown haired guy with glasses like eachother, but the others were awkward.
"Um, hi?" I ask. The blonde turns in my direction, her eyes lighting up. "Hi, I'm Raven, Charles' sister. Nice to see another girl around." She smiles. I nod as I sit in between her and a guy with curly orange hair and freckles.
"Sean" He says cheerfully, and I can tell he was always this way. I smile back. "Atiana, nice to meet to you."
The nerd awkwardly looked at his shoes. "Hank McCoy." He's awkward around girls.
A dark-skinned woman with not a lot of clothes on just looked me up and down. "Angel." She seemed interesting.
The two guys walked over. The one with the spikey hair glanced at me. "Alex". His 'friend' was dark skinned and was kind. "Darwin"
After a few hours, I was pretty bored. I had drank about four glasses of Coke, and I was itching for something to do.
"We should think of codenames!" Raven exclaims. I raise my head from my copy of 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. "We're government agents now, we should have secret code names."
"Excellent idea!" I laugh as I took a long sip. I placed my book down, casting a glance towards Alex. He was the one I felt the heaviest tremors from, tremors filled with emotion. He avoids my gaze. I roll my eyes, turning my full attention to Raven.
"I want to be called Mystique!" She smiles, mischief glinting in her eyes. "Damn, I wanted to be called Mystique!" Sean jokes, and we all laugh, even getting a chuckle out of Mister Bad-Boy next to me.
"Well tough. I called it." She looked around, and then blue scales danced across her skin, and she changed into Sean. "And I'm way more mysterious than you." She says in a perfect Sean voice. We all clap, Sean still in total shock.
"Darwin, what about you?" I ask the male across from me. "Well, uh 'Darwin' is already a nickname, and you know, it sort of fits. Adapt to survive and all."
He walks over to the fish tank, checking to make sure we are all watching, and sticking his head in. Instantly, gills appeared on the sides of his head. We all were pretty amazed. He looked towards Sean. "What about you?"
He looked down in deep thought. "I'm going to be..." He paused almost for dramatic effect. "Banshee."
"As in a wailing spirit?" I questioned, beating Hank to it. He looked to us, and then walked towards the table that our drinks sat on. Helping him, I aligned them in a straight line.
"You might want to cover your ears." He said, a undertone of mystery in his voice. Doing so, Sean drew in a sharp breath, checked on all of us, and let out a high-pitched whistling sound. Not our cups, but the glass on the window looking over the courtyard shattered.
We all clapped. "Your turn." Sean gestured to Angel she smiled as she stood up. "My stage name is Angel." She says confidently, pulling her jacket off, revealing intricate tatoos on her shoulders. The tatoos started to peel off, revealing to be a set of dragonfly-like wings.
"You can fly?" Raven exclaimed and Angel nodded. "Uh-huh. And..." She turned to the broken window, setting her sights on the statue. Spitting, a small ball of something that resembled acid flew from her mouth, scorching the statue's head. I laughed with the others, and Sean seemed like he was having a riot.
Angel turned to Hank. "What's your name?" She asks. I could feel the tremors on that this was a touchy subject for Hank, and Alex wasn't helping. "How about Big Foot?" He laughed, taking another sip of his drink.
Raven came to his defense. "Well you know what they say about guys with big feet, and yours are kind of small." We all 'oooooh'ed as Alex tried not to spit out his drink.
Darwin, the peace keeper, turned back to Alex. "Alex, what is your gift? What can you do?" I leaned in closer, intrigued on what powers an ass can have.
He awkwardly scratched behind his head. "It's not... Ugh, I just can't do it. I can't do it in here."
"Can you do it out there?" I gestured to the still-burning statue and shattered window. "Seeing as we already destroyed it enough."
"Come on!"
"Alex! Alex! Alex!"
We all started chanting his name, and Alex reluctantly put his drink down and stood up as we cheered him on. "Get down when I tell you." He mumbles out as he went through the broken window.
We all leaned out our heads, like something out of a comedy. "Get back! He yells. We do, and then stick our heads out again anyways. "Get back" He repeated. We didn't listen.
"Whatever." He grumbles and he starts swinging his body, red disks forming like hula hoops and firing at the statue, cutting it in half, but making two other scorch marks on the walls surronding it on top of cutting half a tree.
We all clapped in amazment. "Your turn." Alex says, turning his gaze to me. I nod. "Well, my buddy up in Canada calls me Tremor." I smile.
I felt each of them giving off confused tremors, and smirk. "Really, you can't act anything but confused?" I question. Each of them are shocked, but Alex hides it well.
"You're a telepath?" Raven questioned. "Not exactly. I fell the vibrations, or 'tremors' each person gives off, and each symbolizes a different thing. Confusion is fast-paced and doesn't last long." They all stare at me.
"Oh, almost forgot." I turn back to the poor statue that was facing all of our powers today, and started a small shake, opening a crack underneath the statue, and it falling through. Everybody claps.
It's been an hour since our show-off, and things have gone to Hell. At some point, one of us had turned on the music, and everybody started dancing. Hank was upside down on the lighting fixtures, Sean and Alex were breaking chairs on Darwin's back, Angel was up in the air dancing, and Raven was dancing on the couch.
I, unlike all of them, was sitting peacefully reading my book on a bar stool. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Moira yelled. I raised my head from my book, giving Erik and Charles the "I did nothing wrong" face.
Sean turned off the music, Hank jumped off the lights, Raven got off the couch, Angel landing gently on the ground, and Alex and Darwin just stood there guilty.
"Who destroyed the statue?" She was being rude again. I awkwardly put my book down.
"It was Alex and Atiana." Hank blurted out. Thanks alot, Big Foot... I thought angrily.
"No Havok and Tremor." Raven corrected. "We have to call them Havok and Tremor. That's their names now." She walked towards her brother. "And we were thinking you should be Professor X" Gesturing to Charles. "and you should be Magneto." I had to hold back a snort at the names.
"Exceptional." Erik said, dry and sarcastic. Moira shook her head in disappointment and walked away. Charles glared at us. "I expect more from you." He said. Raven's face fell, and me and Hank started to clean up.
