Poem One; Beauty

What is Beauty?

To some, it is "Pleasing to the sense or mind"

And looking in the mirror,

At all your imperfections,

Like your not flawless skin,

Or the bushy eyebrows that cover your eyes,

But what you should know about mirrors is that,

They never show the truth,

They make you think that all your worth,

Can be seen from the outside,

What a mirror can't show you,

Is how the world sees you,

Or all the people who care about you.

It doesn't capture your warm smile,

When you love the world and the world loves you back,

If only the mirror knew.

And your reflection cannot say,

How much you mean to everyone,

And everyone you see.

And not the lives you've made much better,

By simply being on earth.

That no mirror can ever show you, and never will.
