32. There are four main types of galaxies - spiral, barred spiral, elliptical and irregular.
Spiral Galaxy = a galaxy in which the stars and gas clouds are concentrated mainly in one or more spiral arms.
Barred Spiral Galaxy = a spiral galaxy with a central bar-shaped structure composed of stars.
Elliptical Galaxy = a galaxy that has a generally elliptical shape and that has no apparent internal structure or spiral arms.
Irregular Galaxy = a galaxy that does not have a distinct regular shape, unlike a spiral or an elliptical galaxy.
