It was another regular, mundane day in the Achievement Hunter offices, where in which everyone affiliated with the sub-group partnered with Rooster Teeth was gathered around two particular members as they competitively played a game for their Versus series. This week's versus was between the infamously mad Ryan, and the eccentric Ray, and the game they were playing was some classic Trials: Evolution, where their objective was to complete more tracks faster than their opposer.
The other members of the group of gamers were hovering behind the two current players; their hands grasping microphones so that they were enabled to speak into the technological recievers to commentate on what game they were spectating. Wires belonging to the aforementioned microphones graced the floor near Ryan and Ray's chairs, as the other Lads and Gents continually rambled on into them. Abstract nouns like pressure and suspense were persistent to be fueled by the numerous words being thrown around the room whilst the two co-workers were pressing their luck by attempting to be brisk in their completions of the set-up tracks ahead for them.
Now, Ryan was currently in the lead, causing the other Gents to cheer him on and the Lads to rant and yell at Ray. A light smirk painting his lips, the Gent in the competition made sure to not let the other gamer thiefishly take the lead from him; his fingers expertly executing tricks and flips through his avatar to stay ahead of Ray's player with adept movements and brushes of his finger-tips against the buttons on his controller. Upon seeing that Ryan had been holding back and was now letting his true skill shine through his smooth operating, Ray let an exasperated remark fall from his lips as he sat up in his chair with hopeful properties.
"C'mon dude, you've played this too much before; this isn't fair," The Puerto Rican had said as he gripped his controller tighter in his hands and strived to catch up with the leading bike rider, but alas; the mirthful sight of Ray's avatar falling and faceplanting on the built structures found within the game just as he nearly made it to his winning position caused Ryan to guffaw with a mocking laughter, that was minor in key.
"This is totally fair," The Gent commented with a light-hearted tone as he won yet another round and set his controller down on the desk in front of him. His hands coming up and lacing his fingers together before setting his chin on his knuckles and propping his elbows on the edge of the desk, Ryan glanced over at the now fuming and scoffing male and laughed some more with a looming triumphant look that crossed over his facial features; his boss' words filing into the air as his chortles died out.
"Ooh, looks like the Lads aren't going to win this time!" Geoff exclaimed with his famous laughter being strewn out for a short while after he spoke; his statement referencing to how the members of the Lads had been winning for quite a while now, undefeated.
"Yeah, there's only two rounds left and Ryan has dominated them all so far!" Jack had chimed in, only making Ryan beam even brighter with hues of satisfaction in Ray's direction, as the Lad was being repremanded verbally by Michael whilst the darker male pouted in his seat with crossed arms and a jutted-out bottom lip.
"C'mon, man! You're going to lose!"
"Rayayayayay!" Gavin eventually joined in on the attempts to motivate Ray, that were ultimately failures as soon as they were uttered; the Puerto Rican was so done with this game.
"This game is so rigged, man." He muttered the complaint under his breath, before he sat up in his seat and grabbed his controller when he saw Ryan do the same from the corner of his eye. Watching the screen that displayed the next track as it loaded, Ray grumbled another rant below his own voice before he narrowed his eyes at the screen he stared at; the view of his and Ryan's characters coming up making him groan internally when the opposing Gent's avatar boosted off into the lead. Ryan didn't even give him a chance!
