on the way back home, neither seungkwan or yeri spoke to each other. he could no longer catch her eyes through the rearview mirror like how it used to be.
joy would occasionally ask yeri questions as she noticed the unusual silence between him and yeri. the whole car-ride was full of tension and awkwardness and it didn't apply for just him
and yeri, but everyone else as well.
everyone who's present knew about their heartbreaking story.

sent 7:53am.

seungkwan: i'm going to assume that you agreed, if you want to believe me, come meet me at the beach.
sent 8:00am.
with that, he left the room quickly. was he excited to see her again, or was he more afraid to see her?

"hey," seungkwan said as yeri walked towards him. she didn't say anything back to him and stood beside him. "you came."
she nodded in response. of course she would. as much as she didn't want to believe in anyone anymore, deep down inside, she will always trust seungkwan.
"so as you know," he started. he grabbed onto the bottom edge of his shirt due to nervousness. "i've liked you for a long time. a long long time."
"i was stupid for believing in wendy in the first place. you were so quiet, so quiet and i didn't know how to approach you. and i was told that the best way to get your attention was to annoy you, tease you, bully you."
"i didn't know that it would impact you that much," his breath was shaky and his voice was filled with regret. "i thought of stopping, but i was convinced too easily."
"i have to say- i was glad that you got amnesia after the accident. i thought that you would be happy again without me. and you were."
he hesitated before holding both of her hands in his. "but when i saw you again at school," i realised," he paused and caught her eyes. "even if i knew that you will eventually find out or remember and hate me for what i've done. i still like you."
she still couldn't say a single word. and the emotions inside her body was confusing her mind. she didn't know whether or not she could learn to forget this things or not.
he let go of her hands, moving a few centimetres away from her and stared at the salty water, covered by all kinds of blue.
"i remember coming here for excision one time, the way you stared at the ocean. you were genuinely happy and i wanted to be the one who made you happy," he pointed to the sparkly ocean under the sunlight reflecting the two of them. "so i swore to myself that i will became the ocean in my next life"
"it's alright if you can't forgive me, but i just want to let you know, i will never be able to love anyone else more than i love you," honestly filled in his voice and she almost gave in.
it was not until he started to leave her, he turned and started walking away from her
one step. two steps.
by the third step, she found herself getting up on her feet and almost sprinting towards him, embracing him tightly from the back.
no matter how much she wanted to deny, her love for him had washed away all the disappointments and anger.
she forgave him a long time ago and only just noticed now.
"you wanted me to trust you, so i did." she said just loud enough for him to hear while the waves came crashing onto their legs harshly. "and i always have trusted you."
he stood still, unable to process what was going on.
"you can't just leave now when you said you're going to protect me forever."
he turned around and pull her into a hug. "i won't, a promise is a promise," he smiled through her hair.
as they pulled away, yeri could see a very faint shadow walking away. she was sure that person was sweating, but she couldn't make out if he was sweating from the hairline or from his eyes.
