The thing about Rogue Vampires

~When Tyler was 9~

Tyler's P.O.V.

I was walking through the forest, head down, hands in my pockets. Mom was having another pup. And I would be pushed aside again.

When mom and dad had told us about the pup Donna and Kaity emmediatly bombarded them with questions. "Is it a girl? Is it a boy? What will his name be?" I just stood up and ran out. My dad called after me but I ignored him.

Now I was in the woods, jumping over small rivers and walking over the bridges of larger ones.

But after a while I noticed I hadn't seen any water for a while. That was odd. The Blueriver pack was full of rivers.

I reaslised then that the sun had already set, enveloping the forest in a blanket of shadow's. I hoped I hadn't accidently crossed the border. I started to walk back, only to discover I had no idee where I was.

I panicked and started to run as fast as my short legs would carry me. I wonderd if I should shift, my sense of smell would be better and then I could find my way back.

But just as I slowed down I heard a snap. Suddenly I felt a hand on the back of my neck and I was lifted into the air.

"What are you doing out here little wolf? All on your own?" The man laughed.

It was a rogue vampire.

And the thing about rogue vampires is that they suck.

I squirmed in his grasp. "Let me go!"

At that moment the vampire tightend his hold on my neck. I tried to breathe but couldn't.

Then I blacked out.

"Tyler? Tyler! Wake up!"

I groaned and slowly opened my eyes. I was lying on a cold stone floor in a small room that was dimly lit by a flickering lightbulb. My throught and stomach hurt, and my arms, and my legs, and my face.

"Oh my Goddes you're okay."

"Mom?"

My mom pulled me into a hug, careful not to hurt me. Then I noticed that her stomach was bleeding.

"Mom, your stomachs bleeding."

"I know sweetie."

"But what about the baby?"

My mom looked at me. "The baby will have to wait. We need to get you to a pack doctor."

"Kaitlyn! Kai-" My dad rushed in and as soon as he saw us knelt down and embraced me.

"Please don't ever run away like that again." He said. I could hear his voice catch. Then my mom spoke.

"Why did you run away? Don't you want a little brother or sister?"

I shook my head. "No, then you'll just push me aside again like when you had Donna and Kaity."

My mom started to cry. "I'm so sorry I made you feel that way." She whispered, making me feel guilty.

"It's okay mom."

"We love you, no matter what happens. And nothing can change that." My dad said.

Now I was crying too. "I love you too." I whispered.

Then I remembered something.

"What happened with the vampire?" I asked.

"Don't worry about him son, he's taken care of."

~eight months later~

The pack doctor came out of the room with a smile on her face.

"You can come in now."

Me, my dad, Donna and Kaity rushed in. And there on the bed, in my mothers arms, was my little brother. My dad lifted me and my sisters on to the bed.

My mom smiled at me. "What should we call him Tyler?" She asked. I thought for a moment before making up my mind.

"Ethan."
