Chapter seven

"Finn, you're crushing me."

"Sorry, Millie-"

"Ow! Finn that was my foot!" Gaten exclaims.

"Quit your bitching!" Sadie screams in a whisper.

At the moment, they were all in an air vent, waiting for Romeo to come back and tell them the coast was clear. Romeo had said it was a large vent, but not large enough because they were all packed in like sardines.

"It's fucking winter but it's hot as hell in here!" Sadie says, squirming against the metals walls.

"It's cause I'm in here" Caleb says, wagging his eyebrows. Sadie shakes her head and Gaten scoffs.

Romeo had told them that he could get them to the rooftop of one of the nicest hotels in the city. Of course, he had to go talk to the security and flaunt his dad and money. They had been waiting for a while and once again, Millie was impatient.

"I'm sick of this" Millie says, attempting to climb to the front of the vent.

"Oh, no you don't" Finn says, grabbing her waist and pulling her back. I guess he didn't realize how light she actually is because she went flying back into him. He slams back into the wall, causing a loud thud and a whispered "shhhhhh" from everyone. He groans and Millie gets off of him, a concerned expression appears on her face.

"Are you alright?" she asks.

Finn laughs.

"Yeah."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

Millie just nods, sitting back on the other wall across from him. It was a small enough space where she could be sitting on the other side and still practically be in his face. It was also quite dark, the only light coming through was from the slits of the vent.

Everyone got really quiet and no one talked for a few minutes. Sadie was breathing hard but it was mainly because she doesn't like closed spaces. Noah for the most part has been silent, for the same reason as Sadie.

Then suddenly, someone stops in front of them, opening up the vent and letting a flood of light in.

"Guys lets go" Romeo says. Sadie jumps out first, landing on to the carpeted hotel floors.

Eventually, they all squeeze their way out and Romeo looks around.

"This way and run lightly."

They start down the hallway, following Romeo every turn he takes. Eventually, they get into some sort of maids closet. It was filled with towels, sheets, and a whole basket of airplane size liquor bottles.

Romeo shut the door and locked it as the others looked around.

"Oh, hell yeah-"

"Don't take too much, let's go" Romeo says, cutting Sadie off.

He went to the other side, pushing carts and baskets out of the way to get to a door with a yellow sign of someone walking up some stairs.

Millie and Gaten laugh as Sadie shrugs off Romeos order to not take too much. Then she empties the entire basket into her backpack.

"I didn't expect anything less, Sads" Noah says, smiling.

They all turned around when they hear the sound of the door Romeo was prying at, open. When he did, it revealed flights of stairs, leading to what they all guessed was the roof.
