A/N: The song has no role in the chapter, I just thought it fit perfectly.Percy
The night was long and gloomy as I sat around in my bed waiting for my phone to light up with a text from Annabeth. After an hour or two, I decided that she was most likely grounded and suffering the ever-so-lovely punishment of getting into a food court fight. A small smile tugged at my lips as I replay the scene in my head.
"What an idiot," I mumbled with a slight chuckle.
"I really hope you're not talking about me." Turning my head, I find myself inches apart from a blonde beauty with stormy gray eyes. My breath hitched. I don't think I've ever been this close to her. Her beauty seemed to magnify the closer you got.
We stared into each other's eyes for a while before I broke the eye-contact and cleared my throat. "A-Annabeth.. I thought you were at home grounded and not halfway through my window."
Grabbing her hand, I helped her swing her legs into my room. She shrugged and stuffed her hands into her pockets. "I just wanted to apologize for all the trouble I put you through today." "Eh, don't worry about it. I haven't had that much fun in a really long time."
She gave me a playful grin. "Would you say you haven't had that much fun in seventeen years?"
A scoff escaped my lips. "Sure, sweetheart. Whatever helps you sleep at night." I glanced over to the side and sat down on my bed. She followed my actions and stared up at me. "So, what'd your dad say?" Annabeth paused for a moment before she shrugged. "He had to leave immediately due to some emergency business trip. He won't be home for a while."
A small frown tugged at my lips. "So it's just you? Alone?" She shrugged as if it was no big deal. "Well, yeah. I'm used to it, though, it's fine." As much as I wanted to protest, the look in her eyes was begging me to drop it so I did.
Instead, I decided to bring up another question. "So about that guy-" I watched as Annabeth quickly darted her eyes to the window and my curiosity piqued. "Percy.." "Annabeth.." She tried to get up, but I quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her close to me. Now with her standing in front of me while I sat on the edge of the bed, Annabeth had no choice but to look me in the eyes. It was back to our earlier position. Sea-green eyes stared into gray eyes as I held her close. The sound of her heart beating seemed to numb my thoughts. All my brain could do was stare at the gray and follow the beat of her pulse. Nothing had happened and yet, we were both panting like we were in need of oxygen. My finger stroked her bottom lip, her breath hitched. Cold, rough hands gripped my shoulders, digging her nails into my skin. A small groan managed to escape my parted lips as a shiver shot up my spine. Focus on the gray, I thought to myself.
Focus on the gray.
Not on her lips.
The gray, the gray, the gray...
My thoughts seemed to collide into one giant daze. Now all I could do was find myself leaning in. Why was I doing this? I barely even knew this girl.. She could've been a stranger. And yet, she wasn't.
"P-Percy." I watched her lips move as she spoke my name.
Oh, gods.. Why did I enjoy the way she spoke my name so damn much?
Only centimeters away, I knew I wanted it but not like this. I gave her forehead a gentle kiss instead. I wanted to kiss her, but so many things were unclear at the moment.
My moment will be my moment.
She watched me a bit of confusion and what I must've imagined being disappointment in her eyes. "You'll have to talk about it someday."
Her eyes bore into mine and I had to dig my fingers into my own leg to stop myself from kissing her right then and there.
She whispered back as if it was a promise she wanted only my ears to hear, "Someday."
I nodded. She took her hands off my shoulders, but mine only traveled to around her waist. She didn't move away; instead, she sat on my leg with her head rested against mine. I took it as a good sign.
We stayed there for a while as we let the silence speak the words for us. It wasn't until the first clap of thunder that Annabeth realized she should get going home.
"I should go."
"Annabeth, there's a storm outside and you'll be home all alone. Stay." The last word wasn't so much as an offer as it was begging. She opened her mouth to argue, but I pulled her closer. Our noses were now touching as we both pretended not to notice how close our lips were. "Just for tonight.."
Her breath hitched again and I felt it fan my face. "Just for tonight.." The closer our lips were, the easier we seemed to lose our train of thought. Annabeth got up and when I was about to let out a whine, she closed the window and moved back on top of me. She pushed me so we were both laying down, and I pulled a blanket overtop the both of us.
"Goodnight, Seaweed Brain."
"Goodnight, Wise Girl."
And as we both drifted to sleep that night, the last thing I saw was beautiful blonde curls and I swore there was a princess next to me.

A/N: Hehe you can sense the sexual tension between these two. I'm also getting better at updating so bless God for that. Comment and tell me what you thought of the chapter!
