Very excited for this one because it was a lot of fun to design!

Meet the Wrathford Cryptic Omen, The Wolfspider!

Quick Bio: Every city in every state in every part of the country has their urban legends. Tales of monsters and spirits that go bump in the night and often bring death and bad omens to the city if not treated with respect. For the city of Wrathford, that legend is that of "The Wolfspider." Describes as a monstrous 8-10ft tall, anthropomorphic lupus/arachnid hybrid, its origins go back as far as the dark city's origins, with many tales of how it came to be. Some say it is the spawn of the dual fears of the Wrathford's founders (wolfs and spiders) brought to life by Native American shamans angered by having their land taken. Others say that its the result of a man being bitten by a werewolf in the same location he got a spider bite, and things transpired. No one knows for sure. People claim to have spotted it in alleys, abandoned buildings & warehouses, parks & forests, and even the sewers. It is said that the Wolfspider can be sensed because the area gets extremely cold. When that happens, it is rumored to use different forms of wolf or spider hunting/trapping methods to catch its victim. While many have disappeared after claiming to see the Wolfspider, some bodies were found that died in an unusual way: having frozen to death with blood certain organs extracted through bite marks in the skin, once having been found with traces of evaporated webbing left on the victim. It is said that seeing the Wolfspider means you will either be its next meal, or eventually you will die under mysterious circumstances. Also, the Wolfspider been spotted by multiple people within the same week is said to be a bad omen for things to come. Despite the many claims of its existence, many claim to say its a hoax because many have used the legend as a cruel prank or or a way to scare kids. Noir herself was afraid of the Wolfspider when she was a little girl, but has since grown up and stopped believing in the legend. She's always been more convinced the whole legend is a hoax because many criminals have used the legend to try and waine suspicion off them by planting evidence of a "Wolfspider Sighting". She's never seen any real evidence of it existence, and thus always dismissed the legend as just a legend. Or at least, she use to. Because one night she lost a crook while chasing him into an abandon warehouse, it got really cold, and she heard a scream. Noir burst into the factory floor, only for her eyes to behold a freshly dead corpse... and a large dark from of a spider-wolf creature with glowing eyes staring at her before flashstepping out and through the back window. And occurrences have been happening more frequently since that day...

Powers/Abilities:
-Superhuman Strength, Speed, Reflexes, Stamina and Healing Factor
-Razor sharp spider fangs and claws that can tear through human flesh
-Thick, fur-covered exoskeleton provides limited invulnerability.
-Presence is able to drastically reduce temperature in environment to freezing.
-Venom is capable of reducing body temperatures to point where the body freezes to death.
-Web secretion from mouth to entrap prey and enemies.
-Hunting style seems to combine those of various spider and wolf species tactics.
-Possible immortal.

So, this one is a little different from the previous Noir Villains. I figured since Noir's stories are dark and gritty, I figured I'd take a chance and add a supernatural-type villain to Noir's rogues gallery. This one is special for two reasons: it takes inspiration from the various Creepy Pasta created characters on the web. I'm not one for horror, but when I found out that all of those horror characters were made up by people I knew I wanted to get on that train! And that brings me to this second reason Wolfspider is unique: he's completely my idea! That's right, made from scratch, legend and everything(ok, design is inspired by something, but legend is all mine). I had a brilliant idea to give Noir a villain who's existence questions her believes and insanity.

Going off that, Wolfspider is a villain meant to inspire horror in Noir's world, but also serves as an animalistic enemy that's existence is constantly questioned. The plan I have for Wolfspider is that he will keep appearing in Wrathford. The key here is that there is always going to be some sort of reason to for Wolfspider's existence to be bogus, only for the end to give new evidence to prove he is real. It will be a rollercoaster of suspense!

In terms of design, I went with a unique color scheme to make him stand out. I went with blue exoskeleton parts to show his freezing abilities, and multitudes of colored fur to give him an extra push. I can honestly say that this was a really fun character to make! Best I've had in years!
