Carter was sitting on his desk and doing his assignments when Aiden came into the room. He turned around to look at Aiden and put his index finger on his lips, asking Aiden to keep it low. Aiden frowned and glanced at Carter's bed to see a girl sleeping on it.
"You brought a girl--" Aiden's playful grin softened to a confused smile as his brows furrowed into a frown. He gaped at Carter as he put his bag aside. "Are you kidding me? Of all girls you could choose... Mia?"
"Just let her sleep," Carter said, standing up to stop Aiden from approaching Mia. "Hey," he stressed out as he pushed Aiden's chest back, "Calm down."
"What is she doing in your bed?" Aiden asked.
"She's sleeping," Carter pointed out, "Why do you care? You have a girlfriend, and she's a nobody. Am I right...?"
Aiden's eyes twitched. He pushed Carter aside and tried to wake Mia up, "Mia."
"Stop it!" Carter snapped as Aiden tried to drag Mia out of bed. She was forced awake and seemed lost as she looked around, bewildered by what just happened. "Are you fucking crazy?" Carter stepped before her, hiding Mia behind him.
"What is going on here?" Mia asked, staring back and forth between Carter and Aiden.
"Let's go, I need to talk to you--"
"Stop, you're hurting me!" Mia snapped as she yanked her hand out of his grasp.
"Mia."
"Come on, man. She said no," Carter swatted his hand before Aiden could grab her arm again.
"See, this is why people called you a fucking whore. Look at you, just casually hooking up with my roommate. Do you know people are calling you a fucking prostitute in campus right now?!"
"We didn't even do anything!" Mia scoffed, "I was just sleeping on Carter's bed--"
"That was exactly how it went between us, wasn't it?" Aiden asked, putting Mia to silent.
She shook her head in disbelief. "Fine. Even if something did happen, what right do you think you have to tell me what's wrong from right? You don't own me, Aiden. Even if I am sleeping with Carter, how is it your business?"
"Is this how you want to act? Sleeping around with random guys? Are you getting payed to fuck now? Like your stripper mom?"
Mia rolled her fists and bit down her tongue, just glaring at Aiden with hopes that he would stop talking. Knowing he'd fucked up, Aiden shut his mouth and clenched his jaw as he threw his gaze elsewhere.
"You know, you're the last person I'd want to hear such words from," Mia muttered. "Listen, just for the record, I do not go around hooking up with random people. The last guy I fucked was you, and before that it was Pete."
Pete. The name was unfamiliar enough for Carter to keep it in mind. He needs to know as many people she hangout with as he can just so he could figure out how to make her seem less miserable to his mother. That way, Catherine would stop asking him to keep an eye on her any longer.
"I admit that what happened last month was fucking sick and twisted. I, too, wish that I can turn back time and not be such a fool to cry about something so trivial," Mia pointed out, "But for the record, you were fucking sober and you let it happen. You fucking kissed me first."
"Because you said you loved me!"
"I never said I love you. I'm pretty sure I told you I'm jealous because you're always hanging out with Hazel!"
"I heard it correctly."
"Yes, when you're fucking me. I would say I love Carter too if he was fucking me. It's called hormones. I was fucking horny when I said it."
