Your thunderstorm was the only music I learned to dance to, and our masquerade lasted until it flooded. I was the ballerina trapped on the music box. You dragged me through the rain, and my swollen legs shattered. You drowned me with your waltz and smothered me with my mask.

The dance was finally over. No one heard me over your thunder.
