17- Demons

"I smell something."

"What my lord?"his right hand man asked.

"You know, sometimes when something falls, they break."the dark lord said.

"My lord, did you perhaps smelled-"

"Yes, a beating angel heart. An angel has fallen for a human. That is the smell."the dark lord drew in the air into his non-existent lungs. "A very pure one at that."he added, licking his lips.

"Ah...love is in the air I see."his right hand man chuckled.

"I didn't appoint you to be my right hand man to say these cheesy sh*t."the dark lord snapped.

"Sorry my lord, should we send one of the hatchlings?"

"No, not yet."he said. "We have to break her heart first. Ah...it is just too easy. Easier for us because she has fallen for her master."he continued, his lips curled into an evil smirk.

His right hand man cackled and said, "Great. So what is the plan my lord?"

"We are going to use the human to get to her."the dark lord replied as he got up from his throne. "And I want to eat her heart personally."he added as he left the throne.

"Heyyyy, Baekhyun-a!"Taeyeon greeted him.

Baekhyun avoided her eyes and ignored her completely.

"Baekhyun?"she was confused, did she do something wrong?

Baekhyun shoved his hands into his pockets and walked straight towards the bus stop.

"Yah! Baekhyun-a!"she called his name, but he didn't respond as if he didn't hear her at all. He was treating her like she is invisible. "Baekhyun!"she blocked his way, but Baekhyun walked around her and continued his way. "Are you mad? What are you mad about?"she asked, trying hard to catch up with him. "Please, talk to me."she pleaded, her fingers latching onto his blazer, trying to stop him from leaving.

"What is your problem?"he hissed as he turned to face her. Taeyeon slowly pulled back her hand as she stared at him, shocked that he sounded so distant to her. She didn't expect him to react to her like that. It's like the time when they first met and Taeyeon kept on pestering him. It's been so long since she saw this cold side of Baekhyun. She is so used to him being nice to her that she was scared for a second as he glared at her. "F*ck off."he sweared at her.

The smile on her face disappeared, replaced by a sad frown. He never swears at her ever since they became friends and he never acted that way towards her. 

"Baek-Baekhyun-a."she stammered, his glare intimidates her. He realized that he was scaring her, so his expression soften instantly. "W-What did I do?"she asked, her eyes glancing frantically as she examined his face to find any hint of anger towards her, but all she sees is hatred, which is even worse. 

He didn't say anything, instead, he just stared at her silently.

"D-Do you h-hate me?"she was near the verge of crying, she isn't usually someone who easily cried, but the feeling of someone she cares for hating her is suffocating her.

"Taeyeon."Baekhyun grabbed her shoulders. "Sorry for being harsh."he apologised when he noticed how broken she looked. "It's just that-"he paused, how should he tell her this. He has been thinking by himself a lot ever since he saw her wings. 

She did gave him a hint before that she is leaving soon and he figured everything out ever since he saw the file in her bag. She is a guardian angel, what she said was true. But the truth that hurt him the most is, she has been pretending to care for him because it is just her job, nothing else. If he tells her that he knows that she is an angel, will she pack her bags and leave immediately?
