I've been standing on the tarmac for a half am hour, waiting for Elliot's plane to land. It's completely dark, and it's freezing.

I look at everyone around at everyone standing around me.

Mostly women. Women with children. There are so many little kids. A few of them are even pregnant, like me.

I hate this. I just need him home.

People are crying, some of them holding signs that say welcome home. Some people have their whole families. Mothers, fathers, sisters, kids, babies.

I didn't bring anyone with me.

Elliot's parents and brothers and sisters are upstate all week with Bernie's family. Grace offered to come with me and so did Sophia, Mallory, and Brianna. But I wanted to do this alone.

I need to see him. And I need to be able to be with him without other people. I just want to be alone with my husband for the first time in two months.

I see a plane flying low and my heart skips a beat.

It lands and the door slides open and maybe forty men jump out.

All of them dressed in green camouflage with bags slung over their shoulders.

I scan the crowd for Elliot and I don't see him.

When I finally see him I take a sharp breath in. My heart is beating out of my chest.

We lock eyes and he starts to run towards me.

He drops his bag, pulling me into his arms.

"Olivia!" He says, hugging me tightly.

"Elliot." I whisper, resting my forehead against his.

He kisses me and I kiss him back.

"God I missed you..." I say.

He touches his hand to my belly and I smile.

"Good god I missed you..." He says, kissing me again.

I pull away, looking at him.

"You have a beard." I say with a smile.

"Yeah, and I absolutely hate it..." He says with a smile.

He picks up his bag as we walk back to the car.

The drive home is oddly quiet.

It's not like we don't know what to say to each other. It's just so good to have him back. Just so good to be with him.

We get home and he goes upstairs to shower.

He said something about being hungry in the car so I make him dinner.

He comes down stars and I smile.

He shaved.

He pulls me into a kiss and sits down.

I watch him eat and I smile.

My husband is home.

He pulls me into a kiss and wrap my legs around his waist as he carries me up the stairs.

We tear each other's clothes off as we tumble into bed.

A half an hour later we fall off of each other , panting.

"I really missed you..." He says, both his hands cupping my face as he kisses me.

I kiss him one more time before I get up.
