I am too late; I was too late.

Rushing through the doors of the hospital, I ran to my mother's room, thought I knew she was slowly getting ready to take her last breath.
The room was dark and quiet, the slow beeping gave me hope, but I knew the beeping was going to end.
"Mom?" I whispered, walking up to her bed, "I won... just for us," a smile was forced on my lips, though I had already began tearing up as my unresponsive mother stayed quiet.

I couldn't think of words, do I just took my metal from around my neck and place it in her cold hands that were placed on her chest, as if she was ready for her unwaking sleep.

Time sped by and I was sitting on a chair, my head bowed, my (h/c) locks covering my face, and before I knew it, the sound I dreaded most erupted. The long beep, snapping me from my thoughts.
"Mom?" I grabbed her hand, which was colder than before... colder than I ever imagined it to be.

"Mom!" I called out again, aware of the nurses' footsteps getting closer to the room. A single tear slipped from my eye before more did, coming in small streams. I called out to her again and again, her name getting messed up in my ugly sobs.

A nurse had grabbed me and was taking me out of the room, where three grim men were standing. Yuri had his head down, Coach's eyes were glossy, and I knew he was holding back his tears. I didn't fight the nurse. I let her put me in Victor's arms where I cried, but hiccups and pitiful cries were muffled in his chest.
"Mom..." I let her name slip from my tounge one last time before I finally fully broke down, my cries louder and numbness traveled through my body.

Something cold was placed around my neck, but I didn't bother to check it. I was staring at the wall, my (e/c) eyes dull, no emotion in them. Victor had his arms around me, and after a few times of shaking him off, I gave up and let him comfort me. Yuri hadn't said a word, but I knew he felt guilty.
Mom.... she's still with me... she's proud. She's with dad also... she's...- "-happy," I said, my voice raw from crying.
"Hm?" Victor squeezed me gently. "She's happy... she's with dad," my voice was still dead and my throat was sore from screaming and again... crying.

He didn't say anything else and I felt the same numb feeling seep around my body again. She's gone. She's gone. She's gone.

"She's gone," I whispered to myself, tears feeling my eyes again. And you can't ever get her back.

I started to shaking and Victor instantly responded, rubbing my back and holding me tightly against him. "She's gone...." I spoke again, this time louder.

"She'll always be in your heart, though," Victor placed a gentle kiss on my cheek. "She loves you and ways had," he traced my lip, making sure to not hit the swollen part.
I don't know how long I was staring at the wall before I finally fell into a dreamless sleep.

I actually almost cried writing this chapter. I know it's short, but I got two chapters up in a day. Love you all.
