"Maddie, Maddie!" 

A man named Alfred ones ran up to hug the crying girl dropping down to hug the nerdish looking girl. She was shaking as she cried into her knees, ignoring the man that was trying to talk to her. His words were all a blur, she could barely hear him call her name. 

    He stared at her in horror. He's ne ver seen the girl act so.... So strangely before. He's never seen her cry, she's always been so perky. But what she did next surprised him greatly. She stood up and pushed him away.

     "G-Get away from me!" She yelled through her tears, wiping her face with the arm of her sweater. "W-Why are you even here!? Wouldn't you rather be with.... W-With ine ofthose cheerleaders!?" 

Alfred stood up and took a step back. 

".... What..?" Alfred reached out for her, but she only pulled away. Her eyes were filled with betrayal, her lips drooping in a trembling frown. She tilted her head down and put her hands to her face her glasses sliding up.

       He reached for her again, this time succeeding and holding her close. 

"W-Wouldn't you...? Ev-Everyone always says that you hate me and are only being my friend out of pity.." 

He stared down at his girlfriend with shock. 

"Oh Maddie... You're everything to me.... You're not going to lose me..." He sits down, holding the girl close to him in his lap. He rocks her back and forth as her tears soak his shirt.   

"It's okay... I'm not going to leave you, I love you to much to do that, believe me. I do.." He glares at the group of teens that were looking under the bleachers where they were sitting. 

"Hear my heart beat? Just focus on that and know that it only beats for you..."

Maddie continued to cry curled up in a ball that only seemed to grow tighter as moments went on.

"Maddie?"

"Just breathe... Everything's going to be alright..."

"I love you.."
