As David drove on the highway drove on the highway to Gunma, Project D discussed the upcoming battle.

(Play Remember Me, it helps with the flashback)

"So Ryousuke, what are our odds?"

Ryousuke put his tea down.

"If that Green Evo 5 drives as fast as you say it does, then this will be the toughest fight since Takumi."

Itsuki gasped,"What, everyone compares Takumi to that guy, he can't be that good!!"

"He is, I saw him drift up close. He did an inertia drift like I've seen Takumi do. His corners aren't just strong, they're incredible." Keisuke said nodding to Itsuki.

(Keisuke remembers the sights from the battle as David drifted in and out of corners like he was running on water. His drifts were like nothing Keisuke had ever seen.)

"It was if I couldn't shake him no matter how hard I tried." Keisuke added.

Ryousuke chuckled. "If I don't race him, it'll be a disappointment in that case. He sounds like has a 50-50 chance of beating me."

"50-50?" Kenta asked.

"Yes. I have many years of experience with racing, and so does he, as it is impossible for any newcomer to drift like that. He's driving a brand new, modern, state of the art drifting masterpiece called the Evo 5."

"Is it really that good?" Itsuki asked.

"It is." The rotary brothers said simultaneously.

"He must have modified the Evo to be lighter and more maneuverable, but at the same time, added enough power to the engine to pound those corners so fast he would stick right behind Keisuke."

Ryousuke went on. "Perhaps the hardest part of this all is that somehow, he managed to get his hands on an Evo 5 months before Mitsubishi released them to the open market. Which really messes with me as I can't get any stats on it or find out what kind of parts he's using."

"What about you Ryousuke?" Itsuki asked.

"Hmm."

"You were the closest one to beating Takumi, and he's insanely good!" Itsuki said.

"You're right but I really think we're tied in terms of strength. My White FC against him and his Evo 5 could be anybody's game really."

"Do you have a strategy? Itsuki asked.

"I can't even if I wanted to. I saw diagrams of Mount Kobushi on my laptop, only two trained drifters like him and I would be able to drift fast on it. The critical part of the battle is going to be speed and agility. As whoever has more speed and agility will be able to win the battle."

"No matter what you do brother, you have to avenge my defeat. You can't let someone who ended our undefeated record just get away with that!" Keisuke said.

"Don't worry, loosing to that Green Evo 5 is the last thing I wish to do." Ryousuke said calmly.

"No offense to Takumi, but this match will be the hardest one I've ever had, and I will have at least for a while."

"Do we have any disadvantages?" Kenta asked.

"Yes," Ryousuke answered.

"If he was smart he would've used the week I've given him to study the track more and practice, meaning he'll have a better knowledge of the track. From what I know of the track, it matches the difficulty of Akina, but besides having tight hairpin turns, there are also longer stretches of road between each turn instead, making endurance an important skill."
