Adrenaline (Takumi VS David) Pt. 2

(Clip above ensues, uphill battle continues)

David pedaled the gas pushing upwards heavily flying ahead of Takumi, his superior engine and uphill technique showing merit.

"His car is light and turbo, I hope I can catch up!!" Takumi said pressing upwards trying to catch up.

The Evo flew upwards through corners at slightly slower speeds, but fast nonetheless, the kick didn't wear off, the technique being slightly different. 

"Cripes man, do you see the space that Evo's making?" One man asked his friend.

"Yeah bro, he's a monster on the downhill and the uphill!!" His friend responded.

David kept gaining speed, increasing the gap between him and the Eight Six.

Takumi gripped his steering wheel and turned heavily, weakening his drift heavily. "Dammit!!" Takumi said hitting his wheel in frustration,"Why is he so much farther ahead than me on the uphill???"

David smirked and said,"That Eight Six may dominate on the downhill, but you forget how old the damned thing is! My Evo is brand spanking new!!" He said increasing his power, his tires screeching as he flipped through a corner, before switching gears and clicking the foot brake.

"That Evo's uphill corners are impressive. I'm surprised that 86 is anywhere near him....." Shingo said seeing David fly by.

"Come on! I've been practicing on this mountain for over a week, how is he beating me right now??" Takumi asked as David increased power and strengthened the gap.

Takumi kept his foot on the gas pedal, but the Evo still remained decently ahead. 

Keisuke's walkie talkie was called from the bottom.

Kaito called to the top saying,"At the bottom, the Evo passed the 86, he's ahead now!!"

The Blue Jets cheered. "YEAH! Go David!!" Riku said.

The Evo kept making fast corners look like cake, leaving the 86 a tiny bit behind after each turn.

'I don't undertsand why, but he manages to do these corners with a technique I've never seen before. He is one skilled driver....' Takumi thought.

David was pushing his Evo up the mountain towards the top. He looked at his rear-view mirror,"This kid won't let up. How is he still in my rear-view mirror, he should be long gone!"

The Trueno's engine was thundering out at max hp to try to catch up to David. David kept flying through corners, hardening his advantage.

"This is why I really added the uphill segment kid, so I can get ahead of you!" David said laughing as he flew up the mountain.

"If Takumi is on the uphill against the Evo, he is most likely being beat." Ryosuke said.

"Why's that brother?"

"Takumi is unbeatable on the downhill, but his uphill is a different story, and if David's ahead of him, then it's going to take a lot more than fancy tricks to catch up on the downhill...." Ryosuke said.

David flew up the mountain pressing his engine to further increase his advantage. David smiled thinking,'The upcoming downhill segment will be a breeze! All if have to do is stay ahead and I'll have won the race!'

'David is a lot better than I had anticipated, I might actually loose...' Takumi thought.

Takumi gripped the steering wheel and kept pushing, but the steepness of Kobushi played against him, as David continued to push ahead.
