Please, please, please if you're here for someone else's sake memorize these phrases. Know them by heart.

They can help, so so very much.

No, it won't fix it, but I know if I heard these when I had a panic or anxiety attack that it'd at least give me something else to focus on. So there's that, I guess.

Oh yeah, if you do the 'just breathe' one, give them something to mimic. Say, "Deep breaths. Like this. *inhale slowly* *hold for three to five seconds* *exhale slowly* *repeat*" Wait until they match your breathing completely, and maybe even a few minutes afterwords, to start breathing regularly again. Just to be safe.
