The next morning, I woke up at about nine in the morning and got dressed, using makeup to cover the scars and bruises.

I got into my car, thanking the gentleman with a nod, and drove to NCIS. When I got to the main lobby, I walked up to the desk and asked through sign how to get to the director's office. "Go directly to the elevator and go to the top floor." the kind man said, having understood sign. I smiled and thanked him before going to the elevator. When I slipped in, I saw a woman who had jet black hair and seemed goth, but I knew wasn't. "Hi, I'm Abby Sciuto. You must be the new recruit the director was telling me about." she said. I nodded. "I'm Violet Mooney." I signed. "That explains why the director had asked for me to come up with you." she said. I sighed, thinking she was going to judge me. "Don't worry. I'm not going to judge. My mother is deaf." She said. "I'm so sorry." I signed. "That's okay. I'm just glad to have the chance to work with someone as amazing as you." Abby said. I gave her a small smile.

It was then that the elevator doors opened. We walked into the waiting room for the director's office. "Cynthia, the director's ten o'clock is here." Abby said. Cynthia nodded. "She's in there." Cynthia said. We walked into her office. "Welcome Miss Mooney." the director said. She put a badge and gun on the desk. She had a photographer come in for my photo ID. After all of that was taken care of, the director had me sit across from her. "Well, after reviewing your application and seeing how you interact with Abby, you will be with Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs." the director said. I nodded and thanked her before Abby and I went downstairs to meet the team.  Thankfully, nobody noticed me reaching into my jacket pocket for a stuffed wolf I got when I was a kid. I can't remember who gave it to me though. I don't take it out, I just hold it when I need to. I walk into the squad room, where I was supposed to meet the team. There was a man with chocolate brown hair and eyes that matched, a woman with brown hair who seemed Israeli, a man with darker brown hair and eyes that matched, and a silver haired man with steel blue eyes. "Guys, this is Violet Mooney. Violet, these people are Agent Anthony DiNozzo, Ziva David, and Agent Timothy McGee." Abby said, pointing to the other three. I'm still curious who the silver haired man is. "And this is Special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs." Abby said, bringing me closer to the man. He looked very familiar and allowed me to study him.

I looked him over, but when my stormy grey eyes met with his steel blue ones, I fell backwards, my brain having a flashback. I remember now. It was Agent Gibbs who gave me the stuffed wolf. Abby had just started when I first met him. "Jethro. May I?" I signed, asking permission. He gave an affirmative nod. I jumped into his arms, his immediately wrapping themselves around me. "It's good to see you again kid." he said. He was the only one I ever allowed to call me kid. "Gail!" I signed after turning to face her. I jumped into her open arms, us almost falling over with the amount of force on both sides. "I knew you'd recognize me eventually." Gibbs said. I smiled. "How do you know boss man and Abby?" Tony asked. "It was around when I first started. Violet's birth father was a marine who was shot. Case went cold, but Violet had become good friends with everyone here. Mike Franks included." Abby said. I nodded. "I took care of her while we were investigating." Gibbs said. "After the investigation, she had to go to human services, who put her into a foster home." Abby said, translating for me. "She was adopted, but she moved out yesterday." Gibbs continued, also translating for me.

"Can I bring her down to see Ducky and Jimmy?" Abby asked. "Sure." Gibbs said. Abby grabbed my wrist, which caused me to wince as she dragged me to the elevator.
