PSA: Dear Evan Hansen is an amazing musical and all of you theatre trash like me out there should totally listen to the soundtrack if you haven't already.

The statue was the farthest away; it was a small marble statue of an older woman and a dog in front of the downtown mall. Tyler's mother used to take him and his siblings there whenever they went to the mall.

They were mostly bad memories now- from before his mother decided to have an affair and abandon his family at such a young age. Jay was too young to remember much, but Zach, Madison, and Tyler were all too aware of the gravity of their divorce at the time.

Overwhelmed, Tyler isolated himself from his family and friends. Now that he looked back, he would consider this dip of depression during his freshman as his "emo" phase. Though he kept he same sense in music and outlook on life- get into a good college and skip town with Jenna.

She was up for it; no foster kid like her wants to stay in one place for too long. They planned it together, a plan to start somewhere else. But Tyler's past never let go- it had an iron grip on him.

"Dad, why are you and Momma getting a divorce?"

"She cheated on me with another man."

"What's a divorce?"

"It's when a mom and dad don't love each other and they leave each other."

"Zach! That is not-"

"You don't love her anymore?"

"I still do love her, Madison. And I love you all very much."

"Does she still love us too?"

"I... I don't know, Zach."

"If she did love us, she wouldn't have gotten with another man."

"Tyler! Wait, don't cry, Daddy!"

"Thank you, Madison. I'm sorry that you three need to experience this."

"It's okay. Zach, Maddie and I can help you take care of Jay!"

"Yeah!"

"I can cook!"

"I can do laundry!"

"And since I'm the oldest, I'll be the mom!"

"Wouldn't I be the mom since I'm a girl?"

"You don't have to be a girl to be the mom."

"Haha, alright, settle down. Thank you for your offers, it really makes me feel better."

"Hey, Dad?"

"Yes, Tyler?"

"Will Momma come and visit us after you split?"

"I- how about we go the House of Gold and get some ice cream shakes."

"Yeah!"
