Her feet were a blur, moving in a rush as the girl mouthed the words to the song surrounding her.

She was oblivious.

The beat enveloped her, filling in the darkness behind her eyelids.

Even with the sun burning the pavement she danced on, the girl spun. Her world was now one song, looping over and over again.

Just like her body, circling around the cement. A sudden stop, and then a smooth step to her left. Fences didn't need to cover her movement; she'd go on even with watchful eyes.

Leap and skid to a halt. Turn and giggle with no fault.

Rhymes swirled around her head with lyrics. A clash of word play; she embraced it with wide spread arms.

Her life was one lone song.

The only land she needed was her backyard.

Footing secure so she wouldn't fall back into reality.

Into a finish.
