I felt the blanket pulled over my shoulders and lips against the side of my head.
I opened one eye to see Justin walking into our bedroom and heard his suitcase softly hit the floor.
He made it home tonight.
For me.
I smiled and he walked back out, the jacket he had been wearing now off, a long sleeved shirt pushed up to his elbows.
"I didn't mean to wake you up." He said walking back over to me.
"No it's ok. I'm glad you're home."
"Me too. How're you feeling?" He bent down and put his hand against my forehead.
"A little better today."
"You're still really warm."
"Maybe I'll be better in the morning."
"You said that last night."
"I could be."
"Do you need anything?" He asked.
"I'm ok. Thank you though."
"You're welcome." He ran his hand over my cheek. "Come on, let's get you to bed."
"Ok." I went to stand up and almost fell over. He caught me quickly, pulling me gently to his side.
"Gotcha."
I felt myself blush and he scooped me up.
"You dizzy too?"
"A little. It's probably from laying down for so long."
"You're right. I'm sorry I wasn't home earlier. LA traffic..."
"It's ok. You came home."
"Yeah, I needed to make sure you were ok before tomorrow. I couldn't wait that long."
"I washed the sheets. I figured that if you came home today I could wash them. I don't want you getting sick and I slept in your spot."
"It's ok. You shouldn't have. You should have been resting."
"Then you could get sick and it'd push our date night back further."
He laid me down, pulling the covers back and then over me.
"I guess so." He bent down and kissed my forehead.
"Was the flight ok?" I asked
"Yeah it was. I slept a lot of the time."
I saw him pull his shirt over his head in the dark and toss it in the hamper.
"Good. You can turn on the light you know." I shut my eyes, grogginess still lingering from waking up before.
"No it's ok. I don't want to wake you up anymore than I have."
"Mkay." I murmured.
I felt him slide in beside me a moment later.
"It feels good to be in my own bed again."
I laughed at him,
"I'm sure it does." I shivered and he put his arm around me.
"You're really warm." He said again.
"I'm freezing."
"It's just the fever. I'm really sorry."
"It's ok."
I felt the heat off of him warming me. He kissed my cheek and I felt his hand moving gently along my waist.
