A Cold Love (a Jelsa fanfic)

Chapter 14

                                                             Elsa's P.o.V

I pull Jack out onto the ice.  He flies around as I skate.  I close my eyes and breathe in happily.  Suddenly, there is a cold sensation on my head.  I tense up as it falls down my neck.  I whip around and see Jack looking around.

"You little sneaker!" I yell at him.

"What are you talking about?" he asks grinning.

"You know what I mean." I say making a snowball in my hands he can't see.

"No, I do-" he starts.  His sentence gets cut off by my snowball in his face.  He shakes off the snow.

"Oh, it's on." he says grinning.

He makes a pile of snowballs and I form one in my hand.  He picks one up and throws it.  I duck and throw mine.  He steps out of the way and the snowball hits someone else.

"Oooh cold cold cold cold cold." Anna says as the snow falls down the back of her neck. "Okay, who threw that?" she asks turning around.

Jack turns to her and I point to him mouthing, 'he did it'.  'Watch this' I mouth to her and I make a snowball.  I throw it at Jack and it hits him in the middle of his head.  Anna bursts out laughing and I do too.  He turns back to me.

"Now this is what I call a snowball fight!  Who needs ammo?" he says making snow with his staff.

 We laugh and throw snowballs for a while, after most of the people leave I thaw the ice and we go inside.  We warm up by the fire until dinner, where we find our seats and eat.  We're all tire and head off to bed.  I walk with Jack to my room, hand in hand.  We get ready for bed and kiss each other goodnight before we fall asleep, Jack's arms around me.

I stand with Anna in front of me.  We're in a the living room.  

"Elsa, what have you done?  You froze Arendelle again!  Fix it!  Now!" she says scared.  I try to let love fill me up, but nothing comes. 

"I-I-I can't.  I don't know what's happening.  It won't work!" I say.  My eyes widen in fear, not again.

"You're just not trying, you've done it before why not now?" she says a little harsher. 

"I'm trying, but nothing's happening!" I say nervously.  I hold myself as I always do when I'm scared.

"You just want this winter to never end.  You want the world to be cold like you!" she shouts at me.

"No, Anna, liste-" I start.

"Think about the people in the kingdom!  They're freezing all because of you!  This is why you should've never been queen!" she yells.

Wind and snow start swirling around me.  No, I can control it.  This won't happen again!  I try and calm myself.

"Try and think about the kingdom, about me!  You're a monster, Elsa!  A monster!" she yells.

"Anna! Stop!  Please stop!" I yell over the wind.

"You'll always be a monster!  There's no changing it!  You've always have and will be a monster!!" she shrieks.

"ANNA!! ENOUGH!!" I shout throwing my hands down.  My powers shoot out anywhere it can.  One hits Anna in the chest.

"NOOO!" I shout.  She falls to the ground, her hair all turns white.

"Once a monster," she says weakly. "Always a monster."  She turns to ice on the floor.  I rush over.

"No! Anna!  No!  Why why WHY!?" I shout.  She doesn't thaw.  Kristoff comes running in.

"Elsa, what have you done!?" he shouts.

"I swear, I didn't mean to!" I sob.  He runs over and pushes me out of the way.

"Get away from her!  Haven't you caused enough damage already!?"  I cry and try to hold her one last time but Kristoff swats my hand out of the way.  My powers shoot out of my hands and into Kristoff.  He falls back, his hair turning white, just like Anna. 

"You..monster!" Kristoff says weakly as he clutches his chest.  He freezes before me.  I look at my hands, they're shaking badly.  I turn and run, I run as far as I can, or until I run into something.  I look up and see Jack.

"Elsa, you okay?" he asks.  I push past him and run.  I've already hurt two people I love, I can't hurt another.  He catches up with me and lands in my way.  He catches my arms and holds them so I can't move.

"What's going on?" he asks coldly.

"You have to leave me, please, I don't want to hur-" I say but my sentence gets cut off by a sharp slap on my cheek.  I press my hand to my cheek, it's warm.

"Don't tell me what to do!" he says harshly.  I try and pull my other arm free but I can't.

"Jack, please let go of me!  I don't want to hurt you!  Let go!" I say with tears streaming down my face.

He throws me onto the cold, snowy ground and towers over me.  I curl up a little.

"I said, don't tell me what to do!" he says getting harsher and harsher as he talks.  He draws his foot back in preparation to kick me.  I shut my eyes and put my hands in front of me to protect myself.  I brace myself for his foot but it never comes.

 I open my eyes and see Jack with and angry expression on his face, staring down at me.  The only thing is, he's ice.  My eyes widen, no not again.  Even if he did hurt me, oh no.  I'm scared and alone, just as I was when I was in my room all those years.  I get up and keep running and crying.  I stumble on something and black out.

Or so I thought.

I bolt upright in my bed.  I see a dark place on the wall.  It looks sandy, it moves to the floor and grows.  Something comes out of it, a man with grey skin, black robes and hair, with golden eyes.  I know him.

"Pitch," I whisper.  He turns to me and smiles.

"Oh, Elsa.  I wish I could've warned you, but you didn't listen." he says softly. "Thankfully, I could unfreeze everyone.  Take it as a debt to repay.  I hope Jack realizes that being abusive is wrong."

"No, Jack didn't do that.  It was all a dream, just a nightmare." I say quietly.

"I specialize in nightmares, I think I would know if I sent you one!  You can check my schedule, you were not on there.  You tripped and knocked yourself out.  Thankfully, I was nearby to help you and the ones you love.  Everything that happened really happened." he says.  

My eyes widen, I feel my cheek.  It stings.  It was real.

"No" I breathe.

"I hope you come to your senses and see they all don't want you.  They think you're a monster.  They think you make a mess of everything.  If you decide that you want to repay me for thawing the ones you love, you'll know where to go." Pitch says flying out the window.

I sit there in shock for a while.  Jack abused me, Anna and Kristoff think I'm a monster.  Jack stirs in his sleep beside me.  I jump and start shaking.  His eyes flutter open.
