Mya's POV

THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS AND VOTES!!

Thursday night, I didn't have to work tonight. So instead I'm waiting on Ryan to get here. His text message was really vague, I hope everything is alright. Kelly should be back soon, I don't know exactly where she went tonight, but after what happened yesterday I have my suspicions.

knock. knock. knock.

I went to open the door, Ryan was there with his back turned. He immediately turned when I opened the door. I stepped aside to let him in. He walked by me, smelling like he freshly exited the shower...damn. "You need to get it together girl," I whispered to myself.

"What was that?" Ryan asked. He sat on his sister's bed. His blue eyes staring at me intently.

"Nothing, whats up you, were vague on your text?" He squirmed a bit, whatever this is is serious. Ryan motioned for me to sit down. I decided to sit at my desk to give us some distance from each other.

"Can I ask you something first?" He looked uncomfortable by his own question. I nodded, "How much do you know about your parents?" Now I wasn't expecting that one.

"Ryan I told you to drop it... I don't speak on that..." Now I was uncomfortable.

"Just tell me... It's important." I sighed.

"Nothing... was ever mentioned to me... No documents or anything, I've asked people in my town, but no dice." he was hiding something from me, "Why?"

"My dad, back then at his speech he called you Annie,  remember?" Of course I remember that, I think about that exchange a lot. I nodded at his question, I wanted him to continue with the information. "Well when I was in his office... he had graph with your name and the name Annie..."

"What?" My heart was pounding at this point. I was not expecting that.

"Your names were directly connected to each other...with a question mark and the word daughter." Ryan stretched the sentence out, he began speaking again but I tuned him out. Daughter? Everyday I would imagine what she looked like, how she spoke, and now to have her name, was overwhelming. "Mya!"

"What..." he walked over and kneeled in front of me taking my hands in his. His pale hands were so warm. "What else did you see?" I needed more than that.

"I actually took a picture of it," He reached in his pockets and pulled out his phone, handing me the phone with the photo shown. I scanned the photo, some of these names were familiar... people I actually talked to about my parents. When I questioned them they pretended not to know anything. So why are they on here then?

I looked up at Ryan. He could tell I was shaken, "I need answers."

"I know." He whispered, he tightened the grip on my hands as reassurance.

"I have to talk to your dad, he knows something..."

"I know, we can talk to him soon."

"No. I need to talk to him, alone," this was personal. Mr. Carter and my life were connected in someway through this woman.

"Okay,I get it." He looked rejected by what I said, he tried to pull away and create some distance, but I wouldn't let him. I leaned in and kissed his cheek, I needed to give him reassurance that I wasn't blocking him out. Both Ryan and Kelly have been there for me.

" Ryan. I need this for myself... I'm not shutting you out, but me and your father need to speak alone."He gazed at me with those deep blue eyes, "You and Kelly are going to be my backbone if I am actually going to look for her, I'll need you for that." Ryan smiled now.

"I will be here, you can count on me," We looked at each other, not moving, in comfortable silence. I even forgot where we were until we were interrupted.

"Hey... would stop eye-fucking for ten seconds!" I retracted my hands from Ryan's as quickly as possible. Kelly was smirking at us. "I won't be here long just need to grab somethings, then you guys can go back to whatever you were doing.." Kelly went for her overnight bag putting some clothes and her toiletries. Me and Ryan waited in uncomfortable silence until she left.

He stared at me, I knew what he was thinking.

"What?" Maybe if I played dumb he'd drop it. But no such luck, his gaze seemed to grow intenser.

"You know what.." I simply shrugged my shoulders, this conversation was about to go far left and I am determined to keep that from happening. "Nothing, just nothing." Now he caught me off guard, I thought he'd bring up the moment we just had. Why should I care anyway... "I should get going, I had a long day."

"Okay, we can talk about your father tomorrow then and what we should do next,"The room had a new feel to it...coldness. I stood up to open the door, Ryan was on my heels right behind me.

"Yeah tomorrow, we can meet at the cafe or something," That sounded good.

"Okay, should I invite Kelly,  she's apart of this too." Ryan gave me a hostile look, "You know what I'll tell her later..." His features softened. "Night Ryan."

"Night," He waved then left.

I was going to add more but I'll save that for another chapter.

I was thinking about doing point of views from Dex, and Kelly... Let me know if I should? I may even do that next chapter it would be cool to get into there minds, but I don't want to throw the pacing of the story off if I do...

Let me know what you think?
