~Chapter Thirty~

Right when the four guys were about to close in on us, a bright light came up, in front of us.

The four guys scrambled away.

We looked up, to see who our savior was, but, the car was gone.

Both Shinto and I sighed in relief.

"What a miracle." I said.

"I know, right? Wonder who they were."

"Me too. But, I think we should talk about that inside your safe house."

"Agreed."

Shinto and I then headed back to Shinto's place, as fast as we could.

"Sorry that happened. I had no idea that would happen."

"Shinto, for the thousandth time, it's not your fault!"

"But, still..."

I sighed.

"Anyway, I think I should go home. It's already eleven-pm, and, I'm getting pretty tired." I said. 

"You don't want dinner before you go?"

"No. But, thanks for the offer."

"Sure thing."

Shinto then took me out to his car. After getting in, we drove back to my place.

"Thanks for letting me come over. Other than the ambush, I had a great time."

"You're welcome. I'm glad you had a good time." Shinto said. 

"We'll have to do this again."

"Definitely! Well, goodnight!"

"Goodnight!"

I then exited the door, and, headed to the front door.

After putting in the key, I entered the home.

My home.

I then turned to Shinto, and, waved.

Shinto nodded, and, drove off.

I then closed the door.

After that, I heard a scream.

I jumped in shock, and, faced towards the source of the scream.

The source was Lyle, who seemed to be watching a horror movie.

Why is he up so late?

Oh, wait, school's out.

For now.

I then walked out of the entryway, and, went into the kitchen.

In there, I found Henry, making what looked like a fruit smoothie.

"Hey." I said.

Henry turned, to face me.

"Oh, hi, (y/n). Heard you went to a friend's place." Henry said. 

"Yeah. Shinto's place."

"Surprising."

"Why?" I asked. 

"Shinto's known for playing mean pranks on people. Apparently, his favorite is calling people to ambush and scare his friends."

This news shocked me.

Did the ambush...

... Happen on purpose?

"But, I'm sure nothing happened, right?"

"Yeah, nothing happened..."

"I'm glad. Do you want some?" Henry asked, while pouring himself a glass of some smoothie.

"Sure."

Henry then poured anther glass, and, handed it to me.

It was so delicious!

"I see why you love smoothies."

Henry smiled.

"I'm glad you like it. Well, I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow." Henry said, before putting his empty glass in the sink, and, walking out of the room.

I then finished my own smoothie, put it in the sink, and, headed to my room.

After doing my nightly routine, I jumped into my fuzzy pajamas. So comfy...

Okay< I think it's time I get to bed.

I turned out the light, and, got under the covers.

Sleepy... So sleepy...
