That Woman
Sth, I know that woman
I know I know that woman I’m sure
I do. I’ve seen her before
– A while ago –
Sth, I know that woman
I’ve seen her before.
Sth, I know that woman
My cherry blossoms are wilting
And colours fading
I was walking down the street
As I always do to deliver
The paper and this kid walks
Up to me and asks me for
Change and I tell him I
Have no change he says
I do, I did have change
But Sth, I know that
Woman
I’ve seen her before
Raining from clouds silhouetted
By the weekday sun the kid
Wears an army helmet and
A Springbok jersey I keep on
Walking
My Toughees click and clack
On the pavement the kid is wearing
These Jerusalem Cruiser vibe
Sandals that flick and flack
Flick and flack while he
Stumbles after me the kid
Mumbles – some crazy shit –
I pick up the pace
‘Cause I don’t have any change
And he’s quite fast I swear
It he could have been a pro
Power walker, look at him
Go! My god he’s amazing, and
Mumbles his jumbles as he
Goes
He catches up and I regret
Thinking he’s amazing when
He’s up in my face telling me
That I got change when
I have none, but I had some
And Sth, I knew that woman
I know that woman I’m
Sure I do I’ve seen her
Before – A while ago –
And Sth,
When I turned around and
Pushed the kid to the ground
I knew that woman
And Sth,
When I spat at his face and
Said “Fuck off rockspider”
I knew that woman
I knew what she meant
I know what that woman does
I’ve seen her before.
