I expect everyone to leave me,
It's sad but very true.
It's a fact that's been proven repeatedly,
Through broken hearts and annoyed sighs,
As well as half-hearted apologies.

The people in my life right now,
They say they'll never leave.
They swear they'll love and cherish,
All my quirks and minor flaws,
Yet one day every little thing I do,
Will spark a deep dark shadowflame,
Inside their chasm heart.

They'll decide they were better off,
Without me
from the start.

One day I'll be lonely,
An old woman in my bed,
And I'll think of the ones I once had loved,
And I'll cry myself to death.

It's not enough, the time we've got,
With those we hold too close,
We let them see our tender parts,
Our restless minds,
Our emotionless and deformed hearts.

They appreciate the rawness,
My blatant honesty,
But truthfully, I count the days,
Till they run away from me.

Everyone does, and everyone will.
They claim to love me,
Won't ever let anything tear us apart,
But you can't tear a bond that's already gone my dear,
My heartbreak isn't art.
