A breeze blew across the forest. Wolf Fur was hunting with Dove's Pelt, Little Ear, Speckle Leap, and Dapple Spots. They had managed to catch two mice, two birds, and a squirrel. A strange tom wandered aimlessly meowing to himself. It was a kittypet. Only this one was black and white and somewhat plump, unlike Autumn, or the formally known Fou, now named Ginger Foot. "Oh! Hi there!" He meowed seeing the forest cats in his sights. Wolf Fur exchanged a glance with Dapple Spots. Do all cats look that plump? He shook his head.
"Greetings kittypet." Little Ear mewed formally.
"My name's Logan. Are you all lost? Where are your housefolk? Your collars?" He asked them, sitting down.
"We are wild cats. Not kittypets like you. My name is Little Ear." The ticked tabby of the group replied, lifting his head slightly.
Logan tipped his head to one side. "You live out here? With no warm blanket? No salmon and beef?" He mewed looking confused at them.
The forest cats exchanged looks with each other wondering what this cat was talking about with this strange thing called salmon and beef. Little Ear cleared his throat. "Well, we must take our leave now, you should get home yourself kittypet." He meowed through the squirrel fur in his jaws and took his campmates back to the mossy glade. Logan called a goodbye to them and the sounds of his paws going in the other direction faded from their ears. Howls sounded in the distance, as they all tried of their best to keep their pelts flat and to not bristle.
"Pay no heed to them. That's what they want from us." Little Ear told them, flicking his tail, the camp was nearly in sight. Wolf Fur walked in, putting his mice in the fresh kill pile. He blinked and looked around. Eagle's Speck was napping in the sunshine, Grass Shadow was eating a frog, and Violet Leaf was washing herself.
The air blew clean and free around them. Stifling a yawn, he stretched preparing for some sleep. The cats all went and laid down anywhere that felt the most comfortable to them in the glade. Wolf Fur curled beside Violet Leaf. Getting a small snore from her as a response. He purred in amusement and drifted off to sleep. The wolves howled but he ignored them. Not letting the fear in his belly gnaw at him, even though is was trying to do so.
