This is a story of a Growing up. I couldn't think of a better way to get this message to your heart than to write a poem about it.
She tried too hard
He only dreamt
She was his guard
While he slept.
She worked all night
He went to school
Tears in her eyes
She kept her cool
She kept him close
He held her dear
And when he'd cry
She'd say "Mommy's here."
He drifted away
as she got old
And day by day
Love takes its toll
