BACKGROUND STORY/ PLOT OVERVIEW:
At the age of sixteen, Remiwas diagnosed with an illness and due to the rational amount of medicine the Ark was allowed to give him, the boy's days were numbered.
As time went on, he got worse and worse, and began having feverish nightmares of a white horse, calling it the Horsemen of Pestilence. Eventually the little amount of medicine wouldn't be enough so he turned to stealing drugs. While his illness became less apparent, his addiction for the drugs grew. He'd do anything to get his hands on more.
Remi usually knew exactly when to steal, but one day his stash ran out quicker than he predicted, causing him to sneak into medical bay even though the risk of getting caught was very high. Thinking that he successfully got it, he left, however was immediately arrested afterward.
They locked him up in the Sky Box with the same little amount of medicine they were required to give him. He felt the change quickly, the sickness brewing inside of him caused him to become weaker. They put him into solitary because he grew insane inside his cell with his only companion being the White Horse taunting him.
EXTRA INFO:
- Although in the show it says that the Ark didn't leave them any supplies, in this story they provided them with medicine which Remi steals all for himself. This is inspired from the Octavia in the books. His selfishness creates bad blood between him and Clarke since she believes it should be shared to the rest of the hundred if a occasion arrives when they need medicine.
- Over time, Remi will run out and he will feel the profound impact of his sickness.
- The disease will eventually get out of his system, but he will struggle to make it and it will be a long journey.
- Look up symptoms for illnesses ( you can choose whatever he has ) so that you can accurately write this character.
- If you happen to reach season two with this story, Lincoln and Remi should have a good relationship after when Lincoln becomes a reaper because he is able to relate to his need for the reaper drug.
- For this fic, I would say there shouldn't be a love interest, not until he overcomes his own issues later on in the story.
