Things happen

Stephanie cried and cried until she couldn't cry anymore When we finally had her calmed down she was dehydrated and exhausted.

Louis got her a cup of water and set her in bed He gently stroked her blonde hair out of her face and kissed her forehead

"Come and get us if you need us" he said softly

I bent down to kiss Stephanie's forehead as well but she wrapped her little arms around me tightly "Why did Ashley die Niall?" She asked hoarsely

"Things happen for a reason Steph I promise she's happy. She's with God now and I'm sure she wants you to be happy" I replied

"But why? What Weason she died?" Stephanie whimpered
Stephanie sighed "But.....but... I want to know." She wasn't about to give up

"So do I princess We all do But we don't All I know is  that she jumped through the wall of fire trying to save you"

"Weally"

"Yes really."

Stephanie smiled a tiny bit "She was so nice she would say I her best fwiend and best m always save each other." She babbled

I smiled back "she was a great friend I wish it could have lasted I said

Stephanie yawned

"Someone's tired" I commented

"Can you wead a Stowy to me?" She asked in her little voice

"Sure princess" I went over to her bookshelf "What book?"

"Goodnight moon please" Stephanie replied

I pulled the small cardboard box out of the shelf and started reading with Stephanie cuddled up next to me with her head on my chest

She was asleep before the book was finished but I read on anyway just in case

I gently moved Stephanie onto her pillow put her stuffed cat next to her and slid the book back into the bookshelf

I was suddenly exhausted as if some force sapped the life out of me so I went straight to bed and fell asleep within seconds

"Niall....Ni? Ni Ni... p-please w-wake up." a little voice whimpered from the side of my bed

I opened my eyes and saw Stephanie her eyes glassy and her face soaked with tears

"What happened princess?" I asked immediately sitting up

Stephanie started to explain but ended up sobbing hysterically

I quickly grabbed her and pulled her into my lap. I gently rocked her back and forth shushing her until she had calmed down enough to speak

"I h-had a b-b-bad d-dweam!"she managed to say.

"What about baby?"

"T-that y-you died and n-not A-Ashley in the f-fire!"

"Shhhhh it was just a dream I'm right I'm not going anywhere." I whispered

All the crying woke Louis and Harry up and they stumbled into the bedroom.

"Is she ok?" Louis asked sleepily
